What is exclusion folder?

it is a folder residing within the system folder, in which all of the files that are NOT scanned by the system security are identified. (in other words, they are files that contain something that the anti-virus or anti-spyware program would falsely detect as harmful to the computer.)

How can you change a program so that a normal user would not need to put an administrator password every time he tries to run the program?

Windows Vista / Windows 7:

First:

right-click on the shortcut for the program. Then select the [Compatibility] tab. Then Change the [Run as administrator] setting. and click OK.

If that doesn't work, reset the [Run as administrator] setting to it's original setting and Go to:

Control Panel-> User Accounts and Family Safety-> User Accounts-> Change your account type.

and change the relevant account to Administrator (Admin password will be required).

As a last resort:

Go to:

Control Panel-> User Accounts and Family Safety-> User Accounts-> User Account Control Settings.

You should now have a screen saying "Choose when to be notified about changes to your computer" with a scroll bar on the left hand side.

If you set the bar to the bottom it will stop admin checking (known as UAC).

WARNING - this may cause adverse effects if programs are installed, via the internet, from unknown sources (i.e. non-Microsoft) and SHOULD ONLY BE ATTEMPTED BY EXPERIENCED USERS.

No, there is no free speech to text software for Windows 7. Microsoft Office includes this capability, and there are many commercial programs that do this.

What is a validation key?

Hi!

Whenever you buy some new computer software...A validation key is always given for validation of your software. This might be for your operating system, Office Software or any other such program.

This key is generally present on the back-side of the cover of the CD/DVD of your purchased software. It is used to prevent piracy and to ensure that only certified original software copy flows in market.

It consists of series of digits/numbers. When you install a computer software (which includes games) than this key is essential for proceeding installation.

And, we keep seeing hackers crack keys so that the installation does not halts and even without purchasing you can access a paid software.

PS: My discussion does not involves Free Open Source Software(which have free distribution license)

How do you unlock the bios on a laptop i have forgotten my password i need to reboot i have a vires?

This information is intended for experienced users. It is not intended for basic users, hackers, or computer thieves. Please do not try any of following procedures if you are not familiar with computer hardware. I'm not responsible for the use or misuse of this information, including personal injury, loss of data or hardware damage. So use it at your own risk.

A. By Using the Motherboard Jumper:

In most motherboards CMOS battery is soldered, which makes it difficult to remove the battery. In this case we use another method.

Almost all motherboards contain a jumper that can clear all CMOS settings along with the BIOS password. The location of this jumper varies depending upon the motherboard brand. You should read your motherboard manual to check its location. If you don't have the manual then look for the jumpers near the CMOS battery. Most of the manufacturer label the jumper as CLR, CLEAR, CLEAR CMOS, etc.

When you find the jumper, look carefully. There will be 3 pins and the jumper will be joining the center pin to either left or right pin. What you need to do, is remove the jumper and join the center pin to the opposite pin. e.g. if the jumper joins center pin to left pin, then remove it and join center pin to right pin. Now wait for a few seconds and then again remove the jumper and join the center pin to left pin.

Make sure to turn the PC off before opening the cabinet and resetting the jumper.

B. By Using Software:

I have found that BIOS/CMOS Password Recovery Tool is the most effective:

BIOS/CMOS Password Recovery Tool is a program that works instantly to remove any lost or forgotten BIOS/CMOS password. Simply boot your PC to DOS and execute the program, and get access to forgotten BIOS/CMOS passwords in just seconds
