Is it best to remove a window to tint it?

Yes, if you can put it back in.

Removing the windows is a tremendous amount of work, and isn't at all necessary. The edge of the tint film can be tucked under the edge of the rubber strip at the bottom of the window with a stiff piece of plastic like a credit card. The tint film will come with complete instructions and tips. Follow the instructions closely, and it won't be very difficult to apply. If you try to take shortcuts, you'll actually be making it more difficult, and will end up with a poor application.

Can a cop ask you to pull your windows up to check for tint?

If you car windows are already down then the cop can't make you roll them up. Now if you wanted to prove him wrong and roll them up and they won't be tinted, all that would do is make them mad.

Glass replacement for Velux GGL - 4?

I have one that is cracked and called Velux and was told I was out of luck, it's no longer available

*I also have two Velux GGL-6's and one GGL-7 as well, installed in 1986. Velux said they no longer have parts for these older units (I was looking for a new control flap and the price for glass just in case). They did say that these center-pivot roof windows are still made in Europe, and that I could order a new unit, shipped from Europe. As far as glass goes, you may be able to have a glass shop install new panes of glass and rubber seal on the existing glass frame.

How do you replace a passenger side mirror on a 1998 jimmy?

Why is glass used in windows?

I do believe it is because glass is clear so you can see out the window and it shines which is pretty.

Can you place window tint on top of window tint to make it darker?

It can be done. The manufacturers, however, do not recommend putting film on top of film. The adhesion is not as good as that of film to glass. It would have a much greater chance of peeling off, and tint shops will not warranty this type of tint.

How are windshields tinted?

In most cases, windshields are not tinted. Most states have laws prohibiting high windshield tint. You can, however, get a medical waiver from a doctor that will make it legal.

In a case where windshield tinting is legal, the product will be sculpted and molded to the interior of the vehicle through a process heat shrinking and pattern cutting.

What is the law on window tinting?

Window tinting laws vary by state and country, with regulations typically governing the darkness of the tint and which windows can be tinted. It's important to check your local laws to ensure compliance.

Why should window tint be legal?

In most states, tinting is legal up to a certain darkness/type and location on windows/windshields. It cuts glare and lessens the chances of accidents from distracted drivers.

What is best to clean tinted windows with?

From what I've heard, anything but ammonia (Windex, or other ammonia-containing cleaners - read labels). Ammonia, though a good grease-cutter, can be bad for windows, seals, rubber trim (around the windshield, etc.). Some stuff to try citric acid, alcohol, or mechanical cleaners (like a dry erase board eraser - works PERFECT for the inside glass, if it's already been cleaned up a non-ammonia based cleaner before. Have you tried plain old water? Many detailers even go as far as only using plain water (may consider deionized or distilled water, to avoid hard/soft water problems) - and then dry off the window with a crumbled up sheet of newspaper. The newsprint + ink acts as a polish, and with a little elbow grease, works up the gunk/haze from the window. According to http://www.howtocleananything.com/Docs_articles_spring/HTCA_Spring_Automobile_Windows.htm - they state to use WATER only, for interior window cleaning, or if you have to a "mild cleaner" (Leaves us, trying to figure out what would be considered "mild" lol). For Polishing the window tint film, that page recommends a product called "Plexus" - comes in a spray bottle, but I don't have any experience with that product. Note: the above link has some recommendations, but are not tailored to "tinted windows" - but really anything should suffice, as long as it doesn't have ammonia in it. Just don't get the windows too wet, you don't want to peel or scratch the tint film. I can vouch for the microfiber clothe (they called it the Miracle Towel) - I personally wash my windows with 1-1 ratio of white vinegar and distilled water, and they come out very clean and clear ;) Until the next bug splat anyways.

What do you use to get bugs off of my windshield?

Get a rag or other cloth and soak it with hot water. Place the rag on your windshield for a few minutes to soften the bugs. Remove the rag and spray it with a waterless cleaner/polish such as Honda polish or Original Bike Spirits. Wipe it off. You could also use something like Windex at this point.

How the image formed by plain mirror has same size as the object?

a plain mirror does not have any convex or concave curve and thus the light that is reflected does not change in shape.
the object never changes, but the image (which is the object seen in the mirror) is not tangible and is only a picture of the object.
so the image and the object are the same because there is no distortion in a plain mirror.

How do wing mirrors work?

Wing mirrors work by reflecting light from objects behind the vehicle, allowing the driver to see them without needing to turn around. The shape and angle of the mirror help to provide a wider field of view. By adjusting the position of the mirror, the driver can minimize blind spots and improve visibility while driving.
