More specific? In WWM, yes, you definitely can animate text. Just look to the effects selections on the left hand side of your editor and you'll see the "apply transitions, effects, etc." links. You have to download and install the laser beam effect. And, to be honest, if you are using v2.6 of Movie Maker, you may find the effect download out there, but it will be extremely difficult and frustrating to get it to work for you.

Music/audio files must be in one of the following file formats to be imported into Windows Movie Maker:

.aif, .aifc, .aiff, .asf, .au, .mp2, .mp3, .mpa, .snd, .wav, .wma

Audio files protected by DRM (Digital Rights Management) can't be imported into the program without first obtaining DRM permission, or removing the DMR all together.

You can. Just drag and drop the media files into the playlist pane on the right when you're on the "Burn" tab and click "start burn". If that fails, you need a new disk drive that can burn CDs.

There is no feature in Windows Movie Maker that allows for editing of imported media. In other words, you have to do all of your visual/audio clip-editing outside the program.

When importing PowerPoint presentations to Windows Movie Maker, you should always save each clip as an individual .jpg/.gif file first. That way, when you import the media into the program, you can make adjustments to the layout.

1st you select your clip then drag it into the audio box. After that right click and hit mute. Then drag it back to the video box then Bingo! You've muted your clip :D

If you want to adjust the time of each clip individually in Windows Movie Maker, click on the end of the clip and drag it to the right on the time-line.

If you want all your clips to be the same length (time-wise) throughout the project you can change the Duration Default:

> Click Tools, Options and the Advanced tab
> Adjust the time to the right of Picture Duration

This menu allows you to adjust transition durations for the entire project as well. Just remember to Restore All Defaults when you've finished with the project or the setting will affect future projects.

A video is a short film with only one - or very few- cast members and does not require a director. Videos tend to be only a few minutes in length and are relatively cheap to produce.

I believe you would need some type of video editing application to make a lyric video. If you don't want to use Movie Maker, try Video Spin or Video Pad.

GIF stands for: Graphic Interchange Format, which is already an animation.

It is Hypercam itself and WMM Hypercam is a great tool, but once you upload it to WMM it becomes more pixeley, but if you upload it to somewhere like youtube it help un pixel it.

To Publish your WMM (Windows Movie Maker) project:

> With your project in the Time-line view of WMM

> Click on View and Tasks, to open the task pane

> Under Publish to ----

> Choose - This computer

> Name the movie and select a destination to save it in ---
(Choose/make a folder to save it in that you can access easily)

> Click Next

> Select option: Best quality for playback on my computer (recommended)

> Click Publish

When the video is published you should be able to find it in the folder you saved it in. Click on it and it should open up in the media player you use.

That can't be done in Windows Movie Maker. Other (purchased) video editing applications offer that type of feature, but not Windows Movie Maker.

If you can't close Windows Movie Maker on your computer, this is what you do:

> Click Ctrl+Alt+Delete
> Click on Start Task Manager
> Under Applications tab, click on Windows Movie Maker and press End Task
> If Windows Movie Maker is not in that list, click on the Processes tab
> Click on Show Processes for all users
> Scroll down to MOVIEMK.exe and press End Process

The program will close. This procedure can be used for any programs you can't close down manually (and those found running behind Windows).

Pivot files must be converted (Saved As) GIFS before they can be exported in a Standard Video Format such as .avi. And too, you will still need a video editor of some sort regardless of whether or not you decide to use Windows Movie Maker.
