To enter in Windows 2000 terminal without a username and a password you need:

1. exclusive physical access it. 2. Windows 2000 Installation Disk.

Follow these steps:

1. Boot the system using the Win2000 Bootable Disk. 2. Goto the Recovery Console. 3. Presto.

Since Win2000 does not ask for an Administrators Password in the RC; now you should be able to have DOS based access to your files.

if you mean as liek a whole itd be Local Disk "C" or if youre talking inside tht, the windows folder would be the most important

From which platform? From a Windows platform, insert the floppy into your disk drive. You can do this any number of ways but I'll give you the two easiest for me: 1. Depends on what type of local area network - the term is somewhat generic, as it can refer to anything from 802.11n wireless to Token Ring networks.

Generally, you'll need something called an NIC, or a network interface card. For ethernet (most wired networks), you need an ethernet card, or something that appears to have what looks like an oversized telephone jack on one side. Most computers these days include this, so check the back of your computer to make sure you don't already have one. If you don't, buy a USB ethernet adapter - they're not very expensive, and can be plugged into most computers with USB ports (same kind of port into which you might plug in a flash drive, looks like a rather flat rectangle). It should suffice as long as you're not doing anything exotic (intercepting network traffic, etc.) As for the vendor, Linksys if you can afford it, else it doesn't matter.

For wireless networks, you need a wireless card. Appearances vary, so it probably won't help you too much if I try to describe one. For most modern networks, you can use either an 802.11n (otherwise known as Wireless-N) card or an 802.11g (otherwise known as Wireless-G) card. There are a few more exotic networks type (802.11a, for example), but they're not seen often any more. Get the USB versions of those cards as well - they're much easier to install, and they'll suffice for most purposes. As for vendor, Linksys or Netgear if it's affordable, otherwise don't worry about it if you're using Windows (stick with Linksys, Netgear or SMC if using Linux - other vendors could give you headaches during configuration).

Test the CD by inserting it into the drive and rebooting your PC. As long as the CD is earlier in the PC's boot order, the CD will take over the boot process and go into it's restoration routine. Depending on the manufacturer, this may be a complete rewrite of the hard drive, or a choice to only replace the Windows files only. This is important as a complete rewrite will overwrite your personal files and added applications too. If no choice for "Windows only" exists, you need to exit this restore process and find a way to get your personal (My Documents, email, Quicken data etc...) files off this PC, and then run the CD boot restore again. After it is restored, you can copy your data back again. If you do not need your personal files or have a copy already, you can proceed with the overwrite. Remember to do updates for Windows and apply all Service Packs for WIndows and other MS applications.
