The mobile phone network is made up of lots of base stations.

These base stations cover a relatively small area and make up a pattern that looks like 'cells'.

Biological cells or prison cells, the names are derrived from each other.

This kind of network is called a cellular system, becauses of their likeness to a cellular structure.

As you move from one cell to another, your phone automaticllay changes channel and power. This done automatically and without you even knowing or bothering about it, by the power of the compters built into the system and phones.

You can either buy a new pair and look at the specifications and make sure their sensitivity is around 110 db, but the higher the better, or you can buy a headphone amplification system. As far as i know, the headphone amplifiers simply use batteries and have a volume control.

If they both have bluetooth you can "bluetooth" each song to the other phone. But, if one or both of them doesn't have bluetooth you can connect the first one to a computer and copy all the songs to the computer that you want on the other one then connect the 2nd one and move all the songs(that are now on your computer) to your phone! Usually, when you switch carriers, you have to switch phones because of their services with the phones. It's better off to get the new phone along with your new carrier. Depending on which network your current and future cell companies are on will decide whether or not the phone will work with both carriers. Also, even when they are on the same type of network, some more advanced features may not work properly. You can also ask for the unlock code for the phone. This makes it possible to use a phone purchased for one carrier to use it on another. Not all companies are willing to do this, but it's worth asking. Many phones are "locked" onto a specific carrier meaning you cannot use the phone with another carrier or service other than what that service company allows. Phones can be unlocked with a unique code which is typed in or entered through a data cable attachment. These codes are normally secret and usually not availiable to the consumer, though there are third parties which crack the code algorithims and will sell unlock codes for phones. The idea behind locking is that the carrier absorbs much of the cost of a phone, planning on making it back through service charges. This is why phones can be free or discounted with activation and contracts. Recouping phone cost is also why carriers charge early termination fees. By locking the phone, they ensure that they are the provider which makes money off of that phone.

When a mobile phone is on - it constantly communicates with the three nearest phone masts. That's how the network knows where to route calls & texts. The location of the phone masts receiving the signal from the phone are listed on the company's computer. Therefore - the company can locate any active mobile phone to an area roughly 3 metres square.

The first cell phones were used by the government. They actually started as police radios in the 1920's and in 1947 Bell labs made a cell type phone. In 1973 Dr. Martin Cooper made a cell phone closer to what we have today, but it was still used only by government, army, police agencies. It wasn't until 1983 that the public got the cell phone.

Several states and localities have passed laws against driving and cellphone usage, either talking or texting, but such legislation is being bitterly fought by the cellphone industry which wants no limit to the usage of their technology as it is TREMENDOUSLY profitable to them. It depends what type of phone you have.

If you have a smartphone, then there are a ton of apps you could download to monitor incoming calls and push them through or block them, depending on your settings.

Some cell phones come with the option of a "black list" which will send calls of those on the list straight to voicemail.

Also, some carriers like Verizon and Sprint have a block list or spam control that you can set up by logging into your online account.

If the number you're attempting to block is from someone soliciting merchandise or donations, etc., then you might want to call the National Do Not Call Registry ( http://www.donotcall.gov ).

Texts are a little tougher to block than calls, but if you have a smartphone, then most of the block apps handle calls and text messages.

Other than these options, it is probably best to contact your cell phone service provider's Customer Service line and ask a representative directly. They are more apt to help you, because they have access to information on every cell phone they support as well as steps to help you with signing up for special services.

A cell phone does not directly transmit sound. Instead it uses a microphone to convert what you are saying into electronic form. It then communicates with the cell station and sends it the electronic signals which represent your voice. The receiving person's cell phone then reassembles the electronic code representing voice into sound, using a speaker.

The original Sony Ericsson models usually have a 'w.' above the keypad. Also at the top of the mobile there should be a 'sony ericsson' sign and it should be spelt the correct way - Sony Ericsson.

Also on the left side of the phone there should be 'walkman' if it's a Walkman Mobile.

Also, if it's the original then it should be bought from a well known mobile shop and you can also double check with the staff at the shop if it is the original.
