Why wont your linksys router accept the default password when you never set one?
Most routers come with a password built in.
check the documentation (Sometimes it comes with the router printed, sometimes it is a PDF on the CD that came with it), but in my experience, it is usually:
User Name: admin
Password: admin
The first thing to make sure of is that you are connecting to your own linksys router and not a neighbors. Use the direct connection set up to rename your router to something unique and make sure that is the one you are connecting to.
How to connect a Mac to hotel wireless?

That would require a Wi-Fi connection. Doubtful that movie theaters would have such a thing as we all go to the theater to watch what is playing.

To do this, make sure both computers are connected to the router.
Once they are, do this...
1. Open up network connections (or manage network connections if you have Vista)
2. right click local area connection (or whatever connection your using to connect
to the router) and click properties.
3.If you have XP then double click on TCP/IP... If you have Vista, then click
on Internet Protocol Version 4
4.click use the following ip address.
5. on the first pc, in the ip address bar type: 192.168.0.1 : and type
255.255.255.0 for the subnet mask. keep default gateway blank and click ok
6. on the second pc, in the ip address bar type: 192.168.0.2 : and type
255.255.255.0 for the subnet mask. once again keep default gateway blank
and click ok.
7. You now have a LAN setup to play games. if you connect to the internet using
a modem, then when you want to use the internet, you have to click obtain
an ip address automatically when your computer is hooked up to your modem.
8. open a game and create a lan game and see if the other computer can join. if not,
then you have to create a game on the other computer. i dont exactly know why,
but it's kind of frustrating.

Does wireless networks must meet all the same security requirements of a wired LAN?
It's supposed to, but the problem with wireless networks that you can catch packets even if it was not send for you. Such problem was eliminated for wired networks a while ago, the solution is used in all routers. For wireless networks such solution cannot work in principle.
