They (the doctors) went in surgicly and removed the dead mussle. This was all when he was still with Stacy. In the end, his leg was ok and alive but he walks with a limp for all his life and is constintly in pain. He's addicted to pain pills, Vicodin, and in series 7 he went to rehab. He is now off Vicodin.
