Hello,

Please let a medical professional see it. I went to a dermatologist who looked at a black or dark blue mark that was not circular, but shaped more or less like a piece of rice. That was not a common, normal mark.

They did a biopsy & results are not back yet, but said the spot I have potentially looks like a classic precancerous mark. I have only one spot like this, and it's not big. But it's different & not something to ignore.

Don't be alarmed, & don't let nonprofessionals attempt to diagnose your mark! See a real dermatologist who's professionally certified to know. Your personal physician likely does not have the right training and expertise. See someone who does for one visit - just to be safe & sure!

Fyi - My biopsies were TOTALLY PAIN FREE! Not what I expected... I was given a shot first to numb the area, had no sensation whatsoever of anything being removed. A tiny sample was all that was needed.

Now I'm comforted knowing if this proves to be bad, it's extremely in a early stage & easily treated. I learned a lot during my exam about what to look for, and likewise what is not of interest... Worth going once for a good appraisal & to learn what to be watching for...

Blue / black spots can mean different things. A properly trained professional can give you the right answer to this question (and even they may need to rely on test results to be certain!).

Call your city health department if you don't have insurance. They may know some way you can get a free screening...? One way or the other, have it checked - just to be safe...

The short answer is yes you can but its kinda rare, most cases of penile cancer are in men over 40 but we have seen cases in boys as young as 14. the good news is if its caught early, its treatable with good success's. the bad news is the gold standard treatment is to have you penis amputated. i know this sounds extreme but its really not as bad as it sounds, your body is quick to adjust and it also depends on how much of your penis has to be cut off. generally we like to amputate the penis at least 2 cm below the tumor, how ever if we cant leave at least a 1" stump, its best to cut the entire penis off as less than 1" will not be enoungh to pee standings up of for having sex, at this point your urine would be re-routed to a new hole behind your balls and as for sex, you would be required to wear a strap-on type prosthesis.

My Father, granted was 74 years old. He went into the hospital with what we originally were told was phnemonia, only to find out three days later that he had this horrible cancer. We were told he had less than three months to live, my Dad, went into the hosptial June07 and passed away at a palliative care home June 25 of this year.

Yes Gamma Rays can cause cancer, even a small exposure to Gamma ray can cause the risk of cancer, X-Rays and Visible light can cause cancer but need huge amounts of it exposed to the body, Gamma is used in Nuclear bombs because of all the energy it has, so if you're near a Nuclear bomb when it sets off, Your most likely to catch cancer ;)

There is no blood test that can act as a true/false for prostate cancer, but PSA (prostate specific antigen) can be measured to screen for it.

The cause of breast cancer is not fully understood.

Heredity or genetically related susceptibility is considered to play a role. Hormonal regulation of the breast is related to the development of breast cancer, but the mechanisms are poorly understood. Sex hormones (like estrogen) may act as a tumour promoters id initiating agents have induced malignant changes. Estrogen doesn't cause Breast Cancer, but the initiating agents that are found in a susceptible person may accelerate its growth.

Additional factor under study include physical inactivity, dietary fat intake, obesity, and alcohol intake. Environmental factors such as chemical, pesticide, and radiation exposure may also play a role.

Gene abnormalities may be inherited. 5 to 10 percent of all breast cancer persons inherit this gene. Tumour suppressor genes BRCA-1 gene, located in chromosome 17 is a tumour suppressor gene that inhibits tumor development when functioning normally. Women who have BRCA-1 mutations have a 50-85 percent lifetime chance of developing breast cancer. BRCA-2 is another culprit. BRCA tumor suppressor genes mutations may account for 10-40 percent of breast cancers.

According to Dr. Otto Heinrich Warburg(Nobel Prize Winner 1931), cancer cells change from being 'Aerobic'( oxygen-fueled ) to become 'Anaerobic'( non oxygen-fueled ), actually sugar-fueled!
