The flag of Spain consists of three horizontal stripes, red on top and bottom, with the yellow middle stripe being twice as wide as the red stripes. The naval ensign of 1785 is displayed on the middle stripe, just left of center.

The current Russian flag, the tricolour of white, blue and red equal sized horizontal bands, has been in use since December 1993, after the collapse of the USSR.

Prior to that, it was used as the Russian flag from about 1883 until the October Revolution in 1917.

The flag existed earlier than that and was used for different purposes, but it was never officially recognised as the Russian flag until 1883.

The flag has undergone slight dimensional changes over the years, but to all intents and purposes, it is virtually the same flag.

Similar in design to the US flag, the Malaysian flag has 14 alternating red and white stripes. There is a blue field in the upper left hand corner with a yellow crescent moon next to a yellow sun.

The first Minnesota state flag, created by Pauline Fjelde, was adopted in 1893. It was redesigned in 1957 to show a more accurate representation of the flowers on the state seal. That same year (1957) the flag was established as the official state flag in Chapter 1 of the Minnesota State Statutes, Section 1.141. The design was tweaked again in 1983 to reduce the complexity of the state seal.

The bird is the quetzal, the national bird of Guatemala because it cannot survive in captivity. ironically, most quetzals are now in Costa Rica because of the guatemalan civil war. the rifles and swords signify revolution.

It is quite similar to the Flag of TEXAS in USA, but the blue and star are only on the left corner, and the red goes below from left to right. Chile's flag was created before Texas one though.

The flag of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea) has the following symbolism: The blue stripes signify sovereignity, peace and friendship. The white stripes signify purity and the heritage of the Korean people. Red represents the revolutionary spirit of the people. The red star is the symbol of communism.
