(The Soviet Union's position would completely change in the 1950s.) In the Sinai War and the Six-Day War, France and the UK (to a lesser extent), backed Israel. In the War of Attrition, Israel was using assets it retained from the previous three wars. It was only in the Yom Kippur War that Israel received US aid.
It is likely that Israel would not have survived the Yom Kippur War without US aid, but this is because the Arab countries had extensive Soviet aid and weaponry from the Six-Day War, the War of Attrition, and directly prior to and during the Yom Kippur War.
