The Druze are a group in the Middle East, who conduct a unique religion that split from the Shia Islam, in the 11th century. they have there own dialect of the Arabic language, which sound similar to the Syrian one. almost all the Druze live in the areas of Syria, Lebanon and Northern Israel. most of them, are Syrian citizens, but there is a large Druze community among the Lebanese citizens.
At the end of 2005, there were about 118,000 druze among Israeli residents, among them - close to 100,000 israeli citizens, and the rest - residents of the Golan heights.
this is also a secretive religious community a doctrine that is derived from islam basically and historically but they have many differences , actully druze try to hide their religious secrets just like shia muslims and alawites , sunni muslims are 90 % and are the main doctrine , in other words u can say that islam is the sunni cuz sunni means following prophet muhammed completely in arabic , however, durzi say that they r muslims but many muslim scholars don't consider them so due to reasons about hiding their secrets and not teling anybody about them,, so y hiding if they r true ...
plus : they say that one is not responsible from god before he turns 4o , they live in jabal alarab in suwaida in sirya , also in lebanon and few from them in jordan ..

What was the ancient name of the country now called Israel?
The Bible refers to the land of the Canaanites, or perhaps Canaan, although strictly speaking there never was a country called Canaan. Among the Canaanites, each city was a nation-city, completely independent of the others, although often in alliance. The Canaanites occupied the rich coastal plains and foothills from the Egyptian border northwards.
For some centuries prior to the thirteenth century BCE, the mountainous hinterland was practically unhabited so could scarcely be called a country. With the arrival of the Hebrews, an area somewhat larger than the present-day West Bank became home to the Hebrew people, with the nation of Judah occupying the southern portion and Israel occupying the northern region.
Also arriving in the thirteenth century BCE, the Philistines occupied the coastal strip south of present-day Tel Aviv. Their nation is referred to as Philistia. The Negev Desert remained inhabitable until much later, when the Nabataean Arabs invented cisterns to collect and store rainwater.
This area, with its patchwork of nationalities, acquired its first ancient name in the first millennium BCE, when the Greeks called it Palestine after the Philistines whom they found along the coast. The Greeks were unaware that another ethnic group occupied parts of the remote inland.

Why did god tell Ezekiel to prophesy to the mountain of Israel?
Answer
Although Ezekiel 6:3, quoted below, discusses God telling Ezekiel to "prophesy against the mountain", the prophecy is not for the mountain. This is a common literary device where the people living on a certain piece of land are addressed by the land that they occupy. In particular, the Israelites had many pagan altars on the mountains making them particularly resonant to Ezekiel and his audience of the type of Israelite culture that deserves being reproached. So, the real addressee of this prophecy are the pagan Israelites who live on or near the mountain.
Ezekiel 6:1-7, citations NIV:
6 The word of the Lord came to me: 2 "Son of man, set your face against the mountains of Israel; prophesy against them 3 and say: 'You mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Sovereign Lord. This is what the Sovereign Lord says to the mountains and hills, to the ravines and valleys: I am about to bring a sword against you, and I will destroy your high places. 4 Your altars will be demolished and your incense altars will be smashed; and I will slay your people in front of your idols. 5 I will lay the dead bodies of the Israelites in front of their idols, and I will scatter your bones around your altars. 6 Wherever you live, the towns will be laid waste and the high places demolished, so that your altars will be laid waste and devastated, your idols smashed and ruined, your incense altars broken down, and what you have made wiped out. 7 Your people will fall slain among you, and you will know that I am the Lord.
