  1. one passport size photograph;
  2. your original passport or re-entry permit, valid for at least 3 months after your travel. Please submit the passport together with a copy of all the relevant pages.
  3. airline ticket or reservations (MUST show arrival and departure dates);
  4. proof of hotel reservations, proof of registration with an organized tour, vacation home rental, or letter of invitation for stay with family or friends who reside in Italy legally and permanently, which must be sent directly by mail to the applicant. In this case the invitation can be made through a self-executed affidavit , accompanied by a copy of the invitees' permit of stay in Italy. Whoops! Never mind, I misread your question. I thought you were asking about World War *Two* since this section is dedicated to that war. In the first war Germany never invaded Italy either although they were enemies. Italy declared war on Austria-Hungary on May 23 1915 and attacked. They gained some initial successes but the Austrians regained most of the lost territory and then the war became a stalemate just like everywhere else.
