That is a tough situation and extremely difficult to forecast. I guess the question is "can you live with that possibility?" If it happened once, it could happen again. If you really love him, you should attempt to find out why he would look to someone else and try to resolve the issue if possible. Still, you will never know for sure whether it is truly resolved. Thus, once again, can you live with that possibility?

Just let me add, if your MIL has Alzheimers, has had a stroke, or has a drug or alcohol problem , tell your wife immediately, she will understand. If MIL just is trying to seduce you, any flat out accusation will be denied by her . If you let your wife figure it out on her own, then no blame will attach to you, since she will have seen you trying to avoid MIL. Try to have your hands full, be in the bathroom, or any reason to avoid contact when she is arriving or leaving." Develop" an allergy to her perfume, hairspray , anything. I really sympathize with this most awkward dilemma.

Well if you aren't separated i don't see how he can stop all communication with you for days. I mean you are still married correct? So if he is doing all the lying and getting offended by all the questions your asking him then you have a problem with communication as a whole. You both need to sit down an in a calm collected manner talk to each other. Tell him before you sit with him that if he starts getting defensive and raising his voice then the conversation ends until he is able to pull himself together and talk like a calm rational person. Your spouce isn't a dog and can't be forced t listen. However you have another method of recourse. Whatever it is that you want to say can be written down, don't point fingers, be sure to express how much you love this person and ask them to write back to you. That way no one's feelings get hurt by words from the head instead of writings from the heart.

Several ways

1. Bribery- Tell your spouse you'll give him/her something enjoyable in exchange. Incentives work, sometimes.

2. The next time your spouse brings up a problem with you, make a deal. Lovingly tell him/her that you will improve if he/she will agree to improve in the area you need them to.

3. If they bring up an instance that someone else does that bothers them and they do the same thing, tell them.

4. Play the "someone else" game. Bring up the problem as if someone else is doing it, then ask your spouse for his/her opinion. If he/she feels negatively, then reveal that he/she is the one with the very troubling behavior.

At a minimum the other husband tried to get your wife involved in a three way. Possibly with liberal amounts of alcohol. If or not that happened would only be up to those three to say. But you are guaranteed the guy tried.

Did you know when a woman takes a married man, people will loose respect towards you? I will be blunt to you here and if you think I offended you, then accept my apology. But why in Gods name you connect with this married man? Did you even thought about his wife, or maybe his children?
