How do Muslims dress in Syria?
I will tell you, as a Syrian Christian female how my fellow Muslim brothers and sisters dress in my country. Muslim men here in Syria wear jeans and shirts just as in other country. As for females, a large percent of Muslim females in Syria do not wear Hijab, this has nothing to do with not being practicing Muslims. Almost all Muslims in Syria are practicing, males/females-Hijab wearing and none Hijab wearing/youth/elders. None Hijab wearing women wear jeans and tops just as they do in any other country. Hijab wearing women, wear the same clothes as the none Hijab wearing women but with shirts and T-shirts being long sleeved. They wear plenty of makeup, and many of the most attractive women I've met were Syrian women who wear the Hijab. Many Hijab wearing women in Syria wear tighter and much more alluring clothes than none Hijab wearing women do. As part of Arab culture, we (Christian or Muslim) as females do not wear shorts, belly showing tops, cleavage showing tops etc etc in public and prefer to be on the modest side of fashion. This has nothing to do with lack of freedom, womens rights or any other nonsense many Westerners think we, as Arab women put up with. This is part of our culture. Please come and visit, you will enjoy yourself very much and be extremely surprised by how inaccurately we (Muslims/Christians) of the Middle East are portrayed on Western news and TV. Have a great day and God bless both you and your family. *I would like to explain, in case you do not know, that the Hijab only covers hair*

The Golan Heights are higher than the the surrounding Israeli land. When the Syrians had control of the Heights, they'd fire rockets at civilian settlements in Israel from the vantage point.

Syrian hamsters aka golden hamsters, come in a wide variety of colors and patterns and fur lengths. All of the larger hamsters (about the size of a 12 yr old's hand) are Syrian hamsters. "Teddy Bear" and "Black Bear" hamsters are examples of breeds of Syrian hamsters. I have breed brown, black, white, cream, and even red syrian's. Though the 'traditional' syrian (50's era) was brown with dark flashes on the cheek pouches, and a gray belly. A little later the white belly became popular.
What are the causes of the Syrian Refugee Crisis?
The massive amount of violence in Syria against civilians, perpetrated by the Assad Regime, Jubhat an-Nusra, and the Islamic State, which control the majority of Syria, have caused a large percentage of Syrians to flee the country. Jordan, Lebanon, and Turkey have each taken 1.4 million, 1.9. million, and 2.3 million refugees, but all three have basically argued that they are strained and overtaxed by the refugees that they have taken in and cannot afford to take in anymore, resulting in them closing the borders or, in Turkey's case, turning a blind eye towards Europe-bound migration.
As a result, vast numbers of Syrians are taking the long march to Germany and Scandinavia where favorable refugee policies are present and where they do not run the risk of dying unceremoniously as might happen in Syria. Additionally, because of European kindness with regards to refugees, a number of economic migrants are also using the more lenient standards applied to refugees as opposed to migrants to pretend to be Syrians in order to get asylum. The UN High Commissioner for Refugees has no exact statistics, but claims that a significant minority of the "Syrian Refugees" in Europe are Non-Syrian economic migrants, who should not benefit from the asylum procedures that migrants have to deal with, but are engaging in deceptive practices (such as burning their passports) in order to pretend to be Syrians.
The reason that many Europeans and Americans are hesitant to settle the million-or-so "Syrian Refugees" comes from two main factors: (1) that the governments of the various countries have not done any serious work to tease out economic migrants from actual Syrian Refugees, who should receive help and sustenance, and (2) the political and religious views of the migrants, regardless of whether they are legitimate refugees or not could have serious consequences for the national identities of a number of European countries. As a result of this failure to settle the refugees and actually determine a course for them, the refugees have been stuck in limbo in numerous refugee camps.

Does water cost anything in Israel Jordan or Syria?
As with the southwester region of the United States, the northern states in Mexico, the countries of the Sahara, and towns that border the Atacama desert in South America, in short as with all desert places of the world, water is ridiculously expensive. When I used to be a Muslim, a Saudi I knew bitterly complained that in Saudi Arabia "oil is cheaper than water." Many Saudis are bitter because, although the government there has invested in desalination plants, they haven't done enough, nor have they even looked into newer technologies. Saudi Arabians drive fancy cars, but they're thirsty, so its hard to enjoy those fancy cars let me put it that way. Just how precious is water? Some of the most beautiful modern luxury homes in existence, are the ones from Mercer island in Seattle Washington. The reason they are so nice, is because Seattleans LOVE Japan, or they tend to anyway, and all things Japanese, thus, a lot of the luxury houses there combine western with zen architecture, creating a really beautiful look. The "zen" style of house design I believe had its origins in Seattle Washington, among wealthy people it has become all the rage, they love it because its beautiful, yet simple. Imagine, if someone just GAVE YOU a place like that to live but there was one catch; there was no fresh watere ANYWHERE. Would you live there? Its the most beautiful house in the world why not? See? That is why many Saudi Arabians, generally dislike their own country; although the Al-Saud monarchy has untold trillions in their coffers, they do not invest ANY of that in water. What good is having a high government stipend, and a near luxurious, "spoiled rotten" living standard if water is expensive as hell? The biggest problem in the near east throughout its history from ancient times until now, and in all actuality the main cause behind most of its wars, has been water. No sooner did Israel dump raw sewage, among other wastes, into the water supply of Palestinians, that the Arabs started firing katoosha rockets at them. Someone does that here in America, its just a lawsuit, do it in the near east though and someone will try to kill you. One of the things the Al-Saud are infamous for, is their extravagant water fountains. Obviously, all over the world, one of the ways the wealthy show off their wealth is by displaying goods that are difficult to get. In Japan for example, there are plenty of cute, and sometimes, drop dead gorgeous women, thus, a man with a beautiful woman in his arm is nothing special. Now, a man with a beautiful white BLONDE in his arm, HE, is successful. Obviously blondes don't exist in Japan, so they, well, kind of stand out. Does water cost anything in Israel or Jordan? Hold out your arm for me *pulling out a machete here* *SWIPE!* There; here's a water bottle for you half full. Okay its not THAT bad but, just giving you an idea.

How many Syrian refugees are moving to Iran?
NONE. Iran refuses to allow any Syrian refugees to come to the country. Iran's policy is particularly maddening since Iran is supporting Assad, who was responsible for starting the conflict back in 2011. Since Iran has a history of mistreating refugees (such as those coming from nearby Afghanistan), Syrians feel that they have better chance in Europe.

In Arabic, there is a term for the territory currently occupied by Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Palestine, and Jordan. It is called "Bilaad Sham" (بلاد شام) and usually translated as "Greater Syria" since Damascus was the most powerful city in Bilaad Sham. There is another name (with minority usage) for Bilaad Sham in English which is Syria-Palestine. This name comes from the fact that the two dominant Arab population centers of Bilaad Sham (prior to the Arab-Israeli War of 1948-9) were in the French Mandate of Syria and the British Mandate of Palestine.
