Hope this helps anyone like myself that was trying to set the remote codes on a Yamaha Receiver remote for a Dynex TV. I have a 32" Dynex in a second viewing area that I wanted to control with the RAV367 remote from my Yamaha RX-V1800 AV Receiver. I went through dozens of codes gathered from numerous websites, all with no luck. I finally decided to try programing it directly remote to remote with Yamaha's "Programing codes from other remote controls" chapter on page 104 of the RX-V1800's owner's manual. To my delight it worked perfectly and I now have most of the remote commands I use most often. The only alteration I made was to use the "TV Mute" control button on the RAV367 to set the TV input from the Dynex remote while using the "TV Input" button on the RAV367 to control the HDMI input. Other than that slight alteration every function I normally used on the Dynex remote I can now control with the Yamaha remote. I hope this helps.

Wired transmission media is media used to transfer information over a network, such as Twisted Pair cable. This is opposed to wireless transmission media which uses radio waves to transmit information. There are many types of wired transmission media such as coaxial cable, telephone lines, etc. Basically any form of wire used to transmit information over a network is considered a wired transmission media.

Any standard phone line will do. My daughter lives in a house with 50-year old wiring, and her DSL works fine. What is really important is how close you are to a call center. That is a cenral routing station, owned and operated by the phone company. If you live further than 1/2 mile, the service degrades proportionally. One good way to find out if you are close to one is to go to say, SBC, (or your phone provider) and apply for DSL service. Before you commit, they will analyze your phone number and tell you if you qualify.

A coaxial cable is shielded from electrical interference signals whereas UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair) cable is not. The random twisting with which UTP is manufactured works very well, however, in locations where the interference levels are relatively low, because its method of construction ensures that any interference affects both wires in the pair equally. It should also be mentioned that STP (Shielded Twisted pair) cable is also available and is sometimes specified for LANs (Local Area Networks) instead of coaxial cable. But the much greater volume of coaxial cable sold means that coaxial cable prices have been kept very competitive with STP. As STP tends to be more tricky to install - its shield has to be very carefully and correctly terminated at each end - coaxial tends to be used more than STP where noisier-than-normal interference conditions are present at a particular site. Since the 1990s NIC (Network Interface Card or Component) equipment has had extra logic cicuits within it to reject ambient interference much more effectively than equipment which was designed in the previous 20 years, so nowadays UTP can be used more extensively in locations where only STP or coaxial cable would have had to be used before. So, in relation to LANs in normal non-industrial office and domestic buildings, this exam question is now almost obsolete! However coaxial cable is still necessary to carry LANs in difficult environments such industrial plants; hospitals; undergound railway and road tunnels and mines; on board ships and aircraft, etc. and must also be used to carry signals for radio, televison, video and other applications which run at much high frequencies and bandwidths than LANs.

The are many differences between old fashioned telephones and modern ones. The first phones didn't do much more than dialing a switchboard operator, they would connect you to your call. Since then, we have gone wireless, and can pretty much do anything with our phones.
