A beautiful bird in ugly cages?
It can refer to many things:
- someone who is influenced by bad company.
- someone who is trapped by his/her fate - (physical damage.)
- Someone who has lost their way in life. (confused, frustrated, overwhelmed...)
- Someone in an abusive relationship.
- someone bound by traditions....
- someone who just cant say no and just runs on lots of empathy, sympathy and pity. Who doesnt consider themselves often if not at all...
when i read this i just think of an amazing person who is trapped in her own mind. Who is lost and just needs some help to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Sometimes we as humans lose our way and as much as we'd like to think we know what we're doing and where we're going ..in all honesty no one ever does.. we all need that helping hand every now and again. the light at the end of the tunnel indicates freedom of the mind .. clarity and peace. ( just like a beautiful bird trapped in an ugly cage - no freedom at all...) But as humans there is no such thing as the impossible... we make the rules and we make our choices.. Life is a choice. There is no 2 ways about it.
Gosh i could go on and on....
Hope i could help at least a little.
Can a 18 year old with a disability sue a step parent for verbal and emotional abuse?
If you are legally "competent" - at 18 you are probably legally emancipated in your state. You can leave home (if physically/mentally capable) but without any signs of physical abuse, I doubt that your grounds for suit are valid.

What kind of upbringing could make Paul Geneson a liar and a cheater?
Look at his "PARENTS". The old saying, 'A chip off the old block' has a lot of bearing on a persons behavior. I would suspect his parents have similar problems.
What are Power relationships and how can these be abusive?
Power relationships are where there is an unbalance of power between the people involved. One is often more powerful than the other- this person feels strong and in control of themselves and the situation. The lesser powered person will feel abused and generally put up with the controlling and manipulative ways of the person in higher power. The person in higher power may say, "you can't leave me, I will kill myself." so the lesser powered- person will stay in the relationship out of fear that the higher powered person will kill themselves. When the lesser powered person feels vulnerable and unsafe, you can understand how this could be considered abusive - the lesser powered person is not allowed to leave, but is unhappy if they stay. It is a lose-lose situation for them.

What does it mean when a stranger asks for a shockalockaboomboom?
They might just be kidding around, because of the ridiculousness of the word. But if they're not, then by the sound of it, and please remember I'm only guessing, it is probably either cocaine, a single pill (probably an upper), a blowjob, or sex in general.

What is the relationship of dennotation connotation signifiers signified semiotics?
Denotation is the literal meaning of something, whilst Connotation is the deeper, theoretical meaning. Take Steven Speilberg's use of 'the girl in red' in Schindler's List(1993) - literally, it is a little girl wearing a red coat. That's the denotation. However, the colour red carries certain connotations - it could represent death, danger, anger or blood for example: all of which are themes relevent to the film.
Signifier/Signified is a bit more tricky, actually because it can seem almost too simple. When I say or type the word 'dog' (signifier), your mind creates a mental image of a dog (signified). This theory differs across different mediums: my personal favourite example is the 'rose' example. In film, if we see a rose (flower) on-screen as the signifier, the signified is that it is a rose. It's almost unmistakable with a visual aid. However, in language it's a bit more complex as the only visual aid we recieve is within our own mind - if I write the word 'rose' it could mean a number of things, especially without context. Rose, as in the female name? The flower? 'Rose' as in 'Peter rose from his seat'? Rosé wine?
Refer to the writings of Ferdinand de Saussure and C. S. Pierce for quotes etc. Sorry if my explaination wasn't very good, I also had some trouble understanding some of this theory.

Why would a man beat up his own child?
If the child is not a teen then no father should ever beat up their child. If the child is a teen and is not following the rules of the house or argumentative towards the father some fathers can only take so much; especially with their sons they can get into a brawl. It doesn't make it right, but sometimes teens can push the wrong button on a parent over and over again until something snaps. If it is straight out abuse then that child should tell another relative; school counselor or the police.
This question should be why would any parent beat up their own child? Mothers do it 7X more often, according to the DOJ study, "Murder In Families", even when taking custody arrangements into consideration. A common factor in mothers beating and killing their children is that they were also abusive to the children's father. The same is not true of fathers who abuse the mothers. Male children are the primary targets, as they are little versions of the father whom she considered a wimp for not sticking around. Unfortunately, there's no place for the men to go with their children and single fathers have no legal rights to their children, so they can be arrested for thaking them away from the abusive mother. By the time he gets bailed out, there's a restraining order on him.
Battery pf child is bad, but it's not gender specific. The mothers account for 55% of all cases, stepfathers/boyfriends for 10%, stepmothers/girlfriends for 9%, and fathers for 8%.

Abuse of special needs children?
If a child is born with special needs the family are immediatly ashamed of it and lock it away. They feel it is an emnbarresment. One boy in Fiji was locked in a chicken coop- so small he couldn't even stand up. The chicken coop was small and filthy and to feed the child they would just through in chicken food and he would peck it off the floor with the other animals! Some are taken to old peoples homes- sometimes younger than 6 months. they was be locked in a room and tied to the wall. They would never be untied and to feed them the would just chuck in animal food. The room would be empty and they would have nothing to do all day. they would not be able to talk since no-one had shown them how. so clean them they would just hose the child. One boy was tied up for twenty years until one women came and changed his life. she adopted him and taught him how 2 speak and eat. For the first time in his life the boy (now 24) was loved and cared for. But this is very unlikely for other children that this happens to- so please try and help them. by Aimee Johnson born in 1997 printed in 2009
