Hydroxyzine is an antihistamine, and it can affect the action of some antibiotics (including doxyclcine) by causing your body to process the antibiotic more quickly. This can prevent the antibiotic from doing its job. You may need to take the doxyclcine for a longer period of time, or you may need to hold off on the hydroxyzine until you've successfully treated your infection.

With that said, if a doctor prescribes an antihistamine along with an antibiotic, you can safely take both medications. Make sure your physician knows about every drug you're taking when discussing treatments.

Lexapro is generally safe to take with Tylenol (acetaminophen) but is not recommended to be taken with Advil (ibuprofen) or any NSAID (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug) becausecombination of both may increase the risk of bleeding due to synergistic effects, NSAID antiplatelet effects augmented by inhibition of platelet serotonin uptake. The combination increases risk of upper GI bleeding.

In short, don't take NSAID's with Lexapro because they can cause stomach bleeding. Tylenol is safe.

The discussion with regard to drug interactions not occurring probably only refers to the blood levels and elimination rates.

The drug in Wellbutrin is also used for smoking cessation therapy, which is a different issue when talking about drug interactions than for how the drugs might interact when Wellbutrin is being used for depression.

Chantix has been in the news lately (CBS) as causing some users with no previous depression to commit suicide, so if I were you I would not fool with Chantix. Too many X factors.

Part of the approval process by the FDA is to test side effects of a drug being combined with another.

Both are stimulants and you could get "too much" stimulation.

NO, MAO inhibitor (MAOI) aren't used anymore (or rarely used) for depression treatment. Effexor (or venlafaxine) is actually a SNRI (serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor) and works almost as a SSRI.

It is unlikely to cause high blood pressure, though not unheard of. When it does it is mild. In fact it is more likely (though still rare) to cause mild low blood pressure.

It can lower sodium levels so you should not take hypertension treatments like diuretics.

The drug is from the class of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors. The 'reuptake' refers to activity of the nerves in the brain. By stopping the serotonin from being 'cleared' after release at the nerve ends, it hangs around longer to exert a beneficial effect on mood.

These 2 meds are in two completely different classes. Prozac is a SSRI (serotonin reuptake inhibitor) while Concerta is methylphenidate, a stimulant--acts on the dopamine in your brain. Concerta is essentially the same as Ritalin, only it's an extended release version. Prozac is used to treat depression/anxiety, among other uses, while Concerta is used to treat ADHD/ADD. That said, depression/anxiety can have symptoms that mimic the symptoms of ADHD. Lack of focus, concentration, irritability...to name a few. A diagnosis of ADD often comes after trials of SSRI treatment don't work. And also, sometimes these 2 meds are prescribed together, as oftentimes, ADHD and anxiety can go hand-in-hand.

Your doctor may prescribe these drugs together, but they can have serious interactions, including an irregular heart beat which can be life threatening.

Will you test positive for what exactly? If you mean illicit substances like methamphetamine, or other psychostimulants or even narcotics--then probably not. You shouldn't be concerned about a failed drug profile assessment (testing positive) while taking this drug. If you are going to attempt to join the military, know that Strattera's only indication is ADD/ADHD for children, teens and adults in the US and other countries abroad. this may raise red flags for recruiters telling them you have a diagnosis of ADHD. Other psychiatric disorders will also disqualify you from duty. I'm only saying this since there is high comorbidity among having ADHD and other disorders. I know this disqualification to be true in the US, but am not sure about other countries policies. Otherwise, most tests will only scan for a handful of substances. celexa is an ssri antisepressant, xanax is a benzodiazepine... the mixture of these 2 srugs are fine... though whilst starting celexa you may get side effects, if 1 of these is drowziness then xanax may increase it

It can be quite difficult depending on what antidepressants you are taking. You really just need to watch what u eat, get plenty of rest, and exercise at least 3x's a week. yes, u can take tem together effexor xr in the am, trazadone in the evening and xanax as needed. be careful how much xanax he uses, it can cause increased depression. as the dosage of effexo is increased it covers anxiety so the xanax may not be needed so much. hope this helps..

You can drink on depression pills, but if you read the warning signs on the prescription bottle you will see that is says not to drink while on the pills because you can act drowsy and be careful if you are drinking and popping the depression pill while using a machine. It is mind altering no matter what because you are drinking alcohol.
