What part of the french empire bordered the Austrian empire?
Northern Italy was a French possession, bordering the Tyrol. I'm not sure about Dalmatia, now part of Croatia. (Certainly Marshal Soult was Duc de Dalmatie) Bavaria, southern Germany was a French Ally, as was Saxony. The Grand Duchy of Warsaw (Poland effectively) was also a French sattelite state. I think the straight answer is just the frontier of Italy/Tyrol is the only actual connection.
Why did Serbia have a problem with Austria-Hungary?
because they had beaten them in the world war 1 Because Austro-hungary had beaten Serbia in world war 1 This is because ever since the independence of Serbia, Sebia had became aggressive and she always want to expand into the the Balkans. Austria (Austro-hungary) on the other hands, also wanted to expand into the Balkans for compensation since she was declining after the defeat of the Austro-Prussian War. There was a clash of interest between Austria and Serbia as they both aim at expanding into Balkans. Serbia particularly wanted to expand into Bosina-herzegovina as she wanted to gain access to the Agerian Sea and breakthrough the land-locked situation. However, Austria had annexed Bosina-herzegonvina. This antagonized Serbia and she prepared to fight. However, without the support of Russia, Serbia could do nothing but to backdown. Hence, Serbia was very angry with Austria and always wanted to take revenge. Serbia hence supported the anti-Austria revolution movement in Bosina-Herzegonia. And this led to the assassination and finally triggered off World War I.
What happenend to the austro Hungarian empire after the war?
Austria Hungary was made up of many ethnic groups , eg , Slavs , Czech's , Germans , Hungarians , Latvians , Polish etc. Many thought the First World War would expose the weaknesses of their army because they would not form alliances with each other. They were however not like that.
Like Russia, food shortages led to starvation , low morale and eventually mutiny and riots. The war effort was similiary affected but by strikes. The railway system couldn't transport and keep up with the demands of an industrial war. The Austrians started to blame the Germans for using them to die on the battlefield , whilst the Germans thought the Austrians useless. As the war went on and winning seemed now impossible the Czech's , Polish and Crotians declared themselves independent and the Hapburg empire was crumbling.
Rulers do not generally survive defeat and in Novewmber 1918 the monarchy was abolished. The Social Democrats and Christian Social Parties formed a coalition government , to help keep out communism. Under the Versailles Settlement , in September 1919 Austria was denied the chance to unite with Germany and became a smaller ,mostly rural country ,with a loss of much of her industry, especially coal.

Which independent countries were formed from the empire of Austria-Hungary?
It's not so much that they were "carved out" of Austria-Hungary- these countries simply broke away as World War I was ending and the Austrian government was unable to stop them. Here's the list:
1. Hungary
2. Czechoslovakia (which is now split into Slovakia and Czech Republic).
3. Kingdom of Slovenes, Croats and Serbs, which then became Yugoslavia (this has since split into Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Slovenia, Macedonia, Kosovo*, and Croatia).
Parts of Austria-Hungary were taken by other countries, such as a chunk that was taken by Romania, another taken by Ukraine (which then became part of the Soviet Union), and part taken by Italy. The remaining part, called "German Austria", become the Republic of Austria, which it still is to this day.
The * by Kosovo is because many countries do not recognize Kosovo as a country, in particular, Serbia, Russia and other countries that are their friends. Kosovo was a part of Serbia until it declared independence a few years ago.
