Could someone with Asperger's Syndrome fall in love?

Yes.

Two of my co-workers, both of whom had Asperger's Syndrome, fell in love with each other and were married. The movie Mozart and the Whale is a fictional story based on the true story of two people with Asperger's Syndrome who fell in love.

There are books sharing personal accounts of spouses of people with Asperger's Syndrome. Some of the problems and situations described by Maxine C. Aston in The Other Half of Asperger Syndrome: A Guide to Living in an Intimate Relationship with a Partner Who Has Asperger Syndrome are common in romantic relationships with people with Asperger's Syndrome. Ashley Stanford in Asperger Syndrome and Long-Term Relationships writes about her experiences being married to a man with Asperger's Syndrome.

There are also support groups for family and spouses of people with Asperger's Syndrome.

What challenges are associated with High Functioning Autism?

When someone has high functioning autism, they can struggle to understand other peoples feelings, they find it very hard in social situations. Some people can develop obsessive compulsive disorders.

How do you learn a foreign language when you have Asperger's Syndrome and have great difficulty with language?

Learning a foreign language may not be suitable for every person who may be diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome. However, if someone is really wanting to learn a new language, you may want to ask yourself a few questions first: 1.) Am I willing to dedicate my time and effort to learning this new language? 2.) Am I doing this as a hobby or for school? Once you have decided that you are willing to fully dedicate yourself to learning a foreign language, there are numerous options available to you when looking for study guides.
Rosetta Stone is a very popular study tool, but it is also a very expensive one. There are many "how to speak" books available on Amazon as well as the library. I would also like to suggest, to join an organization that consists of the language from the country that you may be trying to learn. In an organization such as the one mentioned, there are members who usually speak the language that you also may be trying to learn, and you could also be friends with them.

When people have autism do they know they have it?

Presumably, when they are diagnosed they are told. It also depends on how severe the autism is. If it is a mild case, just to do with socialising, they know and usually understand. If it is very severe, like if they cannot talk, then they probably don't know, or understand.

Is there a autism spectrum disorder society?

Yes, there are many societies dedicated to autism. One such society is the National autism Society in the UK, the organisation that first used the puzzle piece to represent autism.

Can nonverbal autistic people go to hell if they don't repent and don't understand can god forgive them?

There is no such place as hell, this is a religious belief not an actual place that exists in the real world. God is also a religious belief, like with hell it is not something that exists in the real world and only a minority of people hold this belief, God is not someone who has to forgive anyone any perceived ill-doing. An Autistic person, non-verbal or verbal, do not need your imaginary friend to forgive them.

What does the future hold for people with Asperger's Syndrome?

A lot. The fact that these people are psychedelic means that the answer is clear. The cataclysm occurring in 2012 will open the world up to additional meaning.

Does dolphin therapy work for people with Asperger's syndrome?

By definition, Asperger's Syndrome is "a developmental disorder related to autism and characterized by higher than average intellectual ability coupled with impaired social skills and restrictive, repetitive patterns of interest and activities."

Dolphin therapy is not a clinical therapy, but rather a therapy that involves swimming with dolphins. Some claim is an effective therapy for people with Asperger's syndrome; however, the various forms of Autism (of which A.S. is a very mild form) have so far proved exceedingly difficult to provide effective general-case therapies. In fact, so far, most effective treatment is highly-individual-specific, so it is not possible to make general statements about the efficacy of types of treatment. Little research has been conducted on dolphin therapy.

Can autistic people mentally control you?

do you mean like psychically? if you do then I think it might be possible as me and many other autistic people have claimed to have had psychic and otherworldly experiences that many others can't explain (I am autistic by the way). There is supposedly a link between psychic powers and autism, which explains my paranormal experiences.

If you mean by ordinary psychological means then I am not sure as that isn't my field.

Who are autistic children?

Autism is a disability. Its a communication problem making them speak in monotone voices, they have no empathy, have to be taught communication skills and body language skills, because their wiring for communication is damaged or dead. They can sometimes be in a world of their own and have learning difficulties although intelligent. Some autistic people are geniuses who are savants. There are many different types of autism. All autistic people are seen as weird. All autistic people have repetitive behaviors but can be stopped and have obsessions of things but they can't be replaced. There are many different types of autism, some have a phobia of speaking. They are physically normal and for some normally intelligent. They can't help being autistic.

Are you considered sick if you're autistic?

It's hard to say, but my grandmother told me any kind of behavior that's not normal or considered normal is a form of a sickness.

Can you be diagnosed with autism in the 1960s and later be rediagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome instead?

Absolutely. Asperger's Syndrome had not been identified as a condition then, so children with it were diagnosed with other conditions including autism or obsessive-compulsive disorder or were described as odd, troublemakers, or whatever characteristics were most dominant.

What are the good effects of gifted child?

There are many good things about being gifted. A gifted child always thinks differently which could help a lot. Also gifted children have special talents some people can't do. I know one gifted child with autism who has a photograpic memory. Being this way is not always a bad thing I think it just makes you special!

What insurance companies cover aba therapy for autism?

I recently read an article in the Bergen Record(NJ) That Blue Cross was taken to court by a family. Blue Cross lost and is now paying for ABA. Unfortunatly insurance companies do not recognize ABA as therapy, they consider it experimental. ABA is the only proven method of therapy for children on the spectrum. Insurance companies need to step it up and do the right thing.

How much vitamin a should a four year old have?

It really depends on the child's body constituency. Some children naturally have certain adequate vitamin levels and deficiency of certain others minerals or vitamins.

It is highly recommended the child's body constituency be assessed first and only those vitamins which need adding must be added.

Please do not feed vitamins generically or so you think it is good. It must be good for the child, not declared by someone.

What is known about the alpha waves of children with Asperger's Syndrome?

Michael Murias and his team at the University of Washington compared the alpha waves of adults with autism and adults without autism to determine how well different parts of the brain were communicating with each other. In the people with autism, communication within the brain was impaired. (See the link to "Autistic Brain Had Difficulty Coordinating" for more information.)

Some children who have been diagnosed with autism have benefitted from neurofeedback (also known as neurotherapy) which was used to adjust alpha waves. One study showed an average 26% decrease in autism behaviors with neurofeedback. (See the link to "Neurofeedback Article" for more information.) This is a controversial form of treatment for autism and other learning and behavioral disorders. Other controversial therapies that might help people with autism spectrum disorders by affecting alpha waves are light therapy, music therapy, and an L-theanine (an amino acid) supplement.

The book Biofeedback for the Brain by Paul G. Swingle presents information about Jerry, a child who had been diagnosed with autism, whose alpha wave response was sluggish. The doctor who evaluated his brain function already suspected the diagnosis of autism was incorrect. Jerry was treated for the various brain issues, and the autism seemed to go away. So, a sluggish brain could manifest as autism, but does that mean the child had autism or not? Research continues on autism, alpha waves, and treatments that change the alpha waves.

Can autism increase when you are getting older?

Autism is a neurology - as such it's an absolute and part of a persons biology, autism cannot increase as you get older any more than you can become 'more female' as you get older (unless you're a trans woman who chooses medical options to change their body to be more female). Autism symptoms can change throughout a persons life and depending on their lifestyle and situation they may worsen. There is some evidence to suggest that people become more severely impacted by autism as they enter middle-age to old-age, this may simply be because Autistic people feel under less pressure to assimilate to neurotypical culture or to attempt to conform to neurotypical behaviour.
