Do you need to let lithium polymer batteries run dead before charging?

No, it is not necessary to let lithium polymer batteries run dead before charging. In fact, it is better to avoid completely draining the battery as it can be harmful for its longevity. It is recommended to charge lithium polymer batteries before they reach a very low charge level for optimal performance and lifespan.

Is a lead storage battery the same as lead acid batteries?

Generally, yes, they are the same. The term "lead storage battery" is a bit incorrect, but it conveys the idea that the battery in question is a lead-acid storage battery. These storage batteries are the ones we commonly find in vehicles. With sulfuric acid and water in the electrolyte, and lead and lead dioxide for electrodes, this battery, while having a low energy-to-weight ratio, can deliver some very high surge current, which is what the doctor ordered to start said vehicles.

Will a corroded battery cause your car not to start sometimes?

YES!!!

Replace the car battery.

The white corrosion seen on one of the battery terminals, is also inside the battery.

The internals of a car battery contains lead plates , copper platres and sulphuric acid. During the (dis)charging process the sulphuric acid combines with the lead to form lead sulphate (The white corrosion). When sufficient of the white corrosion builds up inside the battery on the lead plate , it will eventually touch to copper plate. Whereupon the battery discharges and will not re-charge. The battery is //??@@#@!!! XX . So replace the battery.

Sometimes, during the sulphuric acid /lead reaction hydrogen gas is liberated, if an electric spark occurs in the gas , there will be an explosion. So definitely change the battery!!!!!

Where can you buy plutonium batteries?

It takes a very, very, very special license to get permission to purchase plutonium from source nations that produce it. It may be possible to buy it on the black market if risks are ignored and funding is unlimited.

Can you describe how batteries are sources of voltage?

The number of cells in a battery determine the battery's voltage.

Different types of batteries have different cell voltages. The cell voltage is dependant on the reactive metals used.

A typical car battery will have six cells. Because a typical cell voltage has a source voltage of approximately 2.0 volts, this makes a car battery produce a voltage of 12 volts.

What is the punishment for simple battery if already convicted of aggrevated battery and second degree battery?

The punishment for simple battery would depend on the laws of the specific jurisdiction, but it could potentially result in additional fines, probation, or a short term of imprisonment. Repeat offenses of battery can lead to more severe penalties, including longer prison sentences and stricter probation conditions.

Are dry cells really dry?

Some dry-cell batteries ARE rechargeable.....

What is the battery in softball?

The battery in softball are the pitcher and catcher. They are the batteries because they are like spark plugs of the team. They also start the defense of the team. Sometimes the momentum of the team is based on their performance. Basically, they are essential for a team to work.

What is galvanized batteries?

Galvanized batteries are batteries that use zinc as the anode material, which is coated with a layer of zinc oxide. This coating helps to reduce corrosion of the zinc and prolong the battery's lifetime. Galvanized batteries are commonly used in small electronic devices.

Pouring water into a concentrated battery acid dangerous?

Yes.

Battery acid is sulfuric acid, and its dissociation in water is HIGHLY exothermic. Adding a small quantity of water to the concentrated acid releases so much heat that the water can reach its boiling point.

Think frying bacon, except instead of hot grease spattering (which is bad enough) it's hot concentrated acid.

Adding the acid to the water means that only a relatively small amount of acid is being added to a large quantity of water; this helps control the heat production (you should still do it carefully and slowly).

"Do dilutions like you oughtta; pour the acid in the watta."

Are batteries biodegradable?

No, most batteries are not biodegradable because they contain toxic chemicals that can harm the environment if they leach out. It is important to properly dispose of batteries at designated recycling centers to prevent environmental contamination.

What is a battery clip used for?

A battery clip is used to connect a battery securely to a device or circuit by attaching to the battery terminals. It provides a convenient way to make and break the connection between the battery and the device without needing to solder the wires directly to the battery terminals.

How do you replace battery in a garmin?

I have TomTom 910 in USA, (and I have one in the UK). Access to the battery is behind the front screen but the plug is under the circuit boards.

1) Remove 4 screws under ends of rubber strips on back. (All screws are Torx number 6)

2) Remove back cover. Front frame around screen comes off easier now.

3) Remove 2 screws in round top circuit board. Remove 4 screws from lower circuit board. These two boards may have a glue connection. Do not worry if it separates

4) Lay back circuit boards to unplug battery. Note flat ribbon cables are fragile. The 3 wire plug is the battery. Unplug wires to battery from receptacle on circuit board.

5) Remove front screen by pressing a screwdriver against the small metal tags that follow the edge of the screen. The tabs need to be pushed in slightly to allow you to lift the screen out. It may need some leverage, but be careful not to put the screwdriver to far behind the screen as there are a couple of thin cables for the connections.

6) To remove the hard drive you may need to unscrew the vertical black tags about 2 cm long. These simply come away and are grasping the business card size silver box IE the hard drive. The rubber end caps are pressed in, pry out with small screw driver.

7) Remove battery and replace. Note the two sided sticky tape around battery. When putting more tape on, be careful you do not put to much around the right hand end as it will connect with the thin cable when you put it all back together.

9) Reverse assembly. Mine works fine now, good luck. (and so does mine! BLP)

Footnotes: I did not have a Torx #6 screwdriver nor could I buy one locally. I found a #7 mini star bit works just fine. Source: Harbor Freight item # 93316, 6 piece Mini Star Bit Set - $3 PMVN - 9/19/2009

I am not advertising but Batteryship.com included with the battery #5 & #6 torx screwdrivers, a very small Philips (star), a straight screwdriver and a plastic pry tool. Whatever I paid more than another place it was worth it.

When disassembling do not remove the battery clip. Just pop out the battery from the front (experienced having to reassemble that whole thing). Also having a set of tweezers to put the electrical connections back together helped a bunch.

What method can be used to control the disposal of batteries?

One effective method to control the disposal of batteries is to implement dedicated collection points or recycling programs where people can safely dispose of their batteries. These programs help prevent batteries from being thrown away in regular trash bins and encourage proper recycling practices to reduce environmental impact. Additionally, educating the public on the importance of battery recycling and the potential hazards of improper disposal can also aid in controlling their disposal.

Why are batteries dangerous?

Not all types of batteries are dangerous. Alkaline batteries may explode if they have their poles inversely connected. Batteries used in vehicles contain lead and sulphuric acid that may be dangerous if inappropriately handled.

What happens when a battery light the light bulb?

When a battery is connected to a light bulb, the electrical current flows from the battery through the wire, causing the filament in the light bulb to heat up and emit light. The battery acts as a power source, providing the necessary voltage and current to illuminate the bulb.

Where to recycle batteries?

alkaline batteries or other non rechargeables can be thrown away.

anything rechargeable needs to be recycled.

some states like California requires alkalines to be recycled.. something you might wanna check into first before you throw yours away.

A battery consists of five dry?

A battery typically consists of five elements: a positive electrode (cathode), a negative electrode (anode), an electrolyte that allows ions to move between the electrodes, a separator to prevent electrical shorting, and a casing to hold everything together. When a battery is "dry," it means that the electrolyte is in a solid state rather than a liquid or gel.

Where can you buy a 12V 600Ah nife battery in India?

Make sure to verify the authenticity and quality of the product before making a purchase.

Where is the batteries to the Nerf valcon go?

well, if you mean "Vulcan", if you turn the weapon upsidedown, look abit further from the trigger, you will see a little screw isolated to the others as the others are screwed into the sides, not the direct bottom. Unscrew it, pull out the chamber, and the batteries are there.

Is recharging a car battery endothermic or exothermic?

It's exothermic because it produces and releases excess heat.

What are battery cages?

Battery cages are small wire cages used in industrial egg production to confine hens. The cages restrict movement, do not allow natural behaviors, and can lead to health issues for the birds. Many animal welfare advocates argue that battery cages are inhumane.

If D batteries and AA batteries are both 1.5 volts why are D batteries stronger than AA batteries?

D batteries are larger than AA batteries, which means they contain more energy and a larger capacity to deliver power over a longer period of time. This results in D batteries being considered stronger than AA batteries, even though they have the same voltage.
