Also, everything at the beach is usually over-priced and expensive so you should take more money than you would normally just have on you.
A laptop is also a good thing to have incase you get lost or if it rains and you're stuck in the hotel. Bring water or something to drink with you while you're on the beach because you need to stay hydrated (it's hot outside). Sandals are important because the sand will burn your feet when the sun is blazing. Snacks are good, too but nothing that might melt or get moldy or gross. Chips, crackers, etc. are good.
A beach towel is important or possibly a beach chair (although they sometimes rent the chairs out at the beach). If it's legal, beer is a good idea. Usually people with children take sand buckets and shovels, or other beach play items such as a beach ball. If you wear contacts, TAKE AN EXTRA PAIR because the salt water might ruin your contacts.

The D Day landings took place on 5 separate beaches on the northern coast of France.
The American beaches, UTAH and OMAHA, were the western beaches because that allowed their direct re-supply from America without crossing the sea lanes of the re-supply to GOLD the British beach, JUNO the Canadian beach and SWORD the Allied beach. The landings on SWORD were mainly of British forces but it is known as the Allied beach because 'Free' forces such as the French under Commandant Kieffer, landed in the area. The gaps between the beaches were filled by Special Forces such as Commandos and Rangers and at each end of the landings, ie. around UTAH and SWORD, airborne forces were used to stop the Germans attacking the landings from the flanks.
The landing scenes in 'Saving Private Ryan' depict the landings of A Company, 1st Battalion, 29th Divison which had been recruited from the small town of Bedford in Virginia, 23 of whom were lost on D Day. They landed on OMAHA just below where the 29th Division Memorial now stands on an old German bunker.
In total the casualties on OMAH were the greatest of all of the beaches.

Barosinusitis in diving mammals is a pressure related injury in the sinuses and air sacs of their head. The physical trauma is induced by rapid and excessive changes in ambient water pressure. Such pressure oscillations occur above the epicenter of certain shallow-focused undersea earthquakes. But not all quakes generate whale-dangerous seismic waves; only those events that happen in specific places and in a specific manner are dangerous to diving whales.
The sinuses and air sacs of toothed whales serve as acoustic mirrors reflecting sound inside their heads in such a fashion to enable their echo-navigation system to function properly. An injury in this critical part of their biosonar system disrupts echo-navigation, causing the animals to lose their normally excellent sense of direction. It also prevents them from diving and feeding themselves.
Some injured pods recover with a week or so while others are washed into a beach before recovery occurs.
Sharks sense the whales are in trouble, move in close, and wait for the opportunity to snatch any weakened pod member that falls behind.
Injured, trailed by hungry sharks, and unable to navigate or dive, the wounded whales and dolphins huddle together in a tight group and swim downstream with the flow of the surface currents.
