This is a truly a question that is difficult to answer because there are may philosophical, political, and religious perspectives which will alter one's answer. Realistically, though, most parents will about what their children will see and read. As a child, it may seem unfair, but since such a powerful networking tool is often manipulated for the perverse pleasure of others, the internet can be a scary or even DANGEROUS place for one with little life experience! I know that If and when I have children I will restrict what they see online, but not through a system of filters and blocking tools, but more by playing big brother, personally watching over their shoulders, hopefully guiding and helping them enjoy their experience on the world wide web.

Later in life, this will become an issue, though, because little Suzy's growing up. She doesn't want daddy looking over her shoulder constantly... That's alright, but this is the dangerous part! Suzy is now a prime target for sexual predators, stalkers and other assorted freaks. What it comes down to now, is that hopefully the lines of communication are open and you can trust the little lady (or guy) to do the right thing. If you've been strong about being their internet guide, helping them get to what they want or need, etc., hopefully they'll come to you when trouble arises. Unfortunately, they can't trust you with their problems, their experiences, their hopes, dreams and fears, likelyhood is, neither can you trust them. If trust, respect, or family are an issue, parental controls/web blockers may be an only option.

In short, I don't believe in web blockers except as a last resort, because sometimes they block a lot of good information simply as a precaution. on the other hand, I believe good parenting is the real question. Just because you have good blocker programs does NOT excuse allowing the internet to babysit children/young adults. YOU NEED TO BE INVOLVED IN THEIR INTERNET LIFE, JUST AS YOU WOULD ANY OTHER PART. (It's not bathroom time, why would they need privacy?


1. Keep the internet PC(s) in a public area.

2. NO CHATROOMS!

3. Internet is for Research and Pre-Approved play only...

4. If possible/necessary, keep up to date on your children's friends lists in sly ways. i.e. Suggest to invite (internet) friends to parties at your place or other places where you can chaperone and make sure they aren't someone that you don't want you child associated with. (If they won't show YOU their face in real life, do you want your child to go out to meet them WITHOUT YOUR KNOWLEDGE? That's how kids disappear...


I truly hope this was helpful. It's all a matter of how far you are willing to go to keep your kid(s) safe, I think it is an unnecessary step for a parent who takes an ACTIVE role in the child's personal development

If you have the facebook app, you can disable notifications through its settings. If you're talking about the texts/emails that can be altered directly on your facebook accounts from the settings feature.

Sorry I don't know how but I give my blackberry to cellphone shop and he install android on my phone curve 8520 I wish I know how he do it but I can't ask him cause he will not tell me this his work

It really depends what you care about in a phone. Here r some pros and cons

Pros:

Comes with a 5 mega pixel camera (good quality)

You can have access to almost all the social networking sites (so it's good if you're obsessed with facebook and twitter)

Small and cute, it can fit in your pocket

Cons:

Short battery life (usage time: up to 340 minutes)

Small keyboard (well it's a tiny phone)

It's a good phone for someone who wants a tiny phone with social networking. But to be honest, it's not the best phone to get. The kin 2 might be better, idk.

The answers to the Guess Who game for Blackberry are best obtained through finding the answers oneself. The answers are not all provided through the internet.

Open your web browser and press your "BlackBerry" button, scroll down to "Options" folder and click it.. After opening the options menu, click on the first option labeled "Browser Configuration". After opening your browser configuration folder, scroll all the way down until you get to "Home Page Address". From here you can enter your new home page manually or you can just select the "Use Current" option that will make your Home Page the last mobile site you were on before you pressed your BlackBerry button.. Actually, you can do it native with the Treo 650. 1) Go into the phone app. 2) Go to the menu item: Edit Favorites Pages. 3) Click on a blank box, and change "Type" to SpeedDial. 4) Add the person's name (use the Lookup botton) 5) select the Ringtone you want from that screen (bottom pull-down)and hit OK By default you can assign different pictures to contacts. You can at least buy and use Ringo to assign ring tones. Although Ringo is very nice (also includes a lot of neat music stuff) you have to create your own Ringo database as it's not incorporated with the contacts menu. For this reason, I am still searching for a simple utility which will just add this function to the contacts.
