It depends on how much damage was done to the crank. If the journal is smooth and mics out as still round and close to original specs it will last just as long as a crank that has been turned. If you actually spun a bearing then you can bet that the crank journal will no longer be round and putting a new bearing in won't last long at all. You can pick up a mic gauge really cheap at harbor freight. The cheap ones will be plastic....and though they aren't as good as the professional ones, they will take fairly accurate measurements.

yes, same bolt pattern. Chances are the 455 buick had a turbo hydromnatic 400 transmission, hopefully that is what your 350 had. If not, crossmember, driveshaft and linkage will all have to be modified or changed.

If it's an automatic transmission the linkage needs to be adjusted. On a manual transmission when it pops out of gear it means there may be a bad synchronize for that gear a mechanic will need to repair. Once in a while a manual transmission will start doing this if it is low on gear oil.

for EFI engine,

perform the above procedure but this time, is the throttle body that must be clean and settings recheck/reset.

last, check transmission for any internal trouble,

all above procedure is best if a scan tool or diagnostic tool is present for verification of work done,

first you have to put the vehicle in the air. Then you need to remove the oil drain plug to drain out the oil and then remove the filter and unbolt the pan.

Lights/radio/etc. left on, door not properly closed or faulty door switch (leaving interior lights on), an alternator or starter leaking current. And probably a bad start of the day.
