The filter is on the top of the engine under the power steering pump. It is still easy to see. It will be towards the front of the car on the drivers side of the engine. It is a black cap with a 1 1/4" nut on top facing up at you. Unscrew the cap and the old filter will be snapped onto the bottom of cap. Unsnap it and snap your new one on.
Answeryeah its there. it is a real pain and the oil spills everywhere. the oil shops spill it each time i go i try to do it myself. from underside but it is tricky to get my arm in there and actually reach in with the other hand from another weird direction to keep it upright. kind of a lateral passing back anf forth till it will come out. next ime i may take off the front passenger tire. good luck.. If the engine is the 2.2L Ecotec 4 cylinder engine it uses a canister filter (Fram # PH9018 I believe) under a black cap that is located on top of the engine on the front driver side. If you have a plastic ecotec cover on the engine you will need to remove it by pulling on it to release the clips. You should then see the cap in the described location. Use a 1 1/4" wrench/ratchet to remove the cap. (pull off the cap off before you replace the oil plug otherwise you won't remove a lot of the oil). Pull the old filter off the cap and clip the new one on and replace the gasket on the cap. Put new oil on the gasket and screw the cap back into the engine. Then put the oil plug back in the engine. Then add oil. The engines that use a regular oil filter are the 3.5L V-6 and the 3.9L V6.
