There are, of course other ways to get the pictures from the camera to your system (assuming that your 'system' is a PC), and that is to take out the SD card (normally near the battery compartment, but it maybe somewhere else), and insert it into a PC card reader. If your PC doesn't have one of these, then you can pick them up relatively cheaply these days.

Then press up or down till you get the date format you like in the US it is month, day, year like 12.25.2008 then press the right is used to select the next item press up and down to adjust the date and time ok once you have set the date and time. Press menu button to quit the menu.
