Yes. Turtles don't just "catch a cold" like people do however. Unfortunately, if they catch a virus like that, they can't expel everything from their lungs and be fine once it goes away. Turtles who end up with an upper respiratory infection (URI) need to be looked at by a good exotic animals vet who has experience in dealing with reptiles. Turtles need proper antibiotics administered if they do end up with a URI. Signs of respiratory infection include mucus around the eyes, nose, or mouth, sometimes big noticeable bubbles coming from the nose, and in severe cases you will see them begin to stop eating. Turtles who wind up with URI and are not seen by a vet or treated could end up with long-term respiratory problems or even eventually death.

I used to own a turtle, and when it dug a hole it had actually lain eggs! I was surprised at this because I didn't know it had mated. You should check to see if this is the reason. If not, then another reason your turtle may be digging a hole is because it just needs a 'den', or that it may need to dispose of body wastes. (fecal matter, ect.)

Yes you can I've been feeding mine them for ages but only 3-4 a week as waxworms are mainly fat and you don't want your musk turtle eating too much fat :)

There are a few reasons why a group of turtles is called a bale. This is because they look like bales.

Some turtles, such as the Musk turtle use smell to make them seem unappetizing. All turtles can hiss to appear threatening and many will bite if you get too close to their face. Also, another (rather obvious) method of protection is to tuck all soft areas; their head, feet, and tail, close to their body and use their strong shell to protect them from teeth and getting crushed (usually).

Name of some of the rare turtles in the world are Yangtze giant soft-shell turtle and the Texas dino turtle. The Alligator Snapping Turtle and the Pink Belly Side Neck Turtle are other rare turtles.

Turtles, like a red-ear slider, are primarily omnivores. If you have any veggies or fruit in your fridge you can try shaving off very thin, raw slices and feed this to the little guy. They also eat raw meat or fish.

If your turtle is actually a land tortoise, stick to grated veggies and dark green leafed lettuce. Aquatic turtles will also eat lettuce greens but this should not be their primary source of food.

I was doing some research on turtles and came across this answer.

The female turtle will deposit 50-200 ping pong shaped balls into the nest she has made for them.

My tortoise chipped his shell all of the time buy ramming rocks and bricks or by throwing a tantrum if the door to the house was closed. I don't know what kind of problem you are having like if it is still bleeding, sore to the touch, not healing, infected… I want to help but can you at least specify which shell, carapace (top) or plastron (bottom)? I would think that Knox unflavored gelatin or strong horse hoof glue might be the only products that would have enough keratin to make any impact, but I don't even know if that would work. I'm kind of envisioning an impromptu silk wrap type of bandage that you may use like on a torn fingernail? NO Med/Vet knowledge and would only intervene if the tortoise is not healing himself or it is a cosmetic concern of yours. I hope you are inquiring about an actual tortoise and not some print on your sunglasses or something ( I posted 1 page for someone that was pleading for "please help, sick tortoise shell" and apparently the "sick" in that was an adjective describing the finish on her new phone!" I helped her notice the headers that divided the categories on the top of the site and explained how tortoise could end up classified with animals.) Good luck

The male has a flat stomach and the female has a stomach that pockes out so she has enough room in here for thee eggs,males have bigger claws and tails than the female,the female will also grow bigger than the males.
