That is the nature of a cat. I would put both the cat and the bird outside and let nature take its course. If you know where the nest is, you could return the baby to it, but chances are that it is already damaged.

Much older than that, cats often have difficulties accepting a new kitten if they are an only cat. Adding a nutritional supplement with brewer's yeast or adding vitamins to the cat's food can help. Cats need continuous monitoring at all stages of their life, but especially as they get older, since they tend to hide their illnesses and won't show signs until they are quite sick. Keeping track of the cat's normal routine, and noting deviations from it, will let the responsible pet parent give their cat a happy, long, life.

The simple answer is yes. It is a very basic instinct for newborn kittens to suckle from their mothers. Without it there would be no cats! Blood in poop is never a good sign. There are a very wide range off possibilities, some more extreme than others. If this problem persists, see your local vet. Also, you might want to get new sheets.

If you only see cats with their tails standing up, that is a good sign because it generally indicates a confident and well adjusted animal. A fearful or aggressive cat will hold its tail down, and may lash it from side to side.

Believe it or not, but a cat's mouth is actually dirtier than a dog's (a dog's mouth is just more slobbery). So I would strongly advise against a cat drinkink the same water as you. Carry the glass around with you so the cat won't have a chance to drink out of it. Or if you catch the cat doing it you should dump out the water and get new water.
