NO , if you do this most animals can possibly reject their baby, and either kill it or not feed it and then it will die , the baby's have their mothers scent on them and this is what they recognize, if you wash it the scent will fade, it may not recognize it as its baby.
if its totally unavoidable then wash it but you should wipe it in something that smells of its mother after and im not sure if that actually will work so again, dont just do it because you want to.
