if you have a V8 the firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2 and the distributor rotates clockwise. The #1 plug is on the drivers side closest to the radiator, plugs on the drivers side are numbered 1-3-5-7 and the passenger side is 2-4-6-8 with #2 the closest plug to the radiator.

No, it will not. NONE of the body panels will interchange. The Monte Carlo was a 2 door body fitted to a 4 door Chevelle frame. The doors and hood are considerably longer and have VERY different body lines.

The 1970 Chevelle SS had 4 engine options, ALL big blocks. The L34 was a 350 HP 396, the L78 was a 375 HP 396, the LS5 was a 360 HP 454 and the LS6 was a 450 HP 454. Note, these are the factory horsepower ratings. Also note in 1970 the 396 was bored out to 402 CID, but was still called a 396 for marketing reasons. The L34 was the base model engine, the other three engines were all optional for super sport models.

First, unplug it from the back. Then remove the screws in the chrome ring. You will see a ring around the outer lip of the headlight. This will have screws on it. 3, I think. Anyway, remove these. Now, you will see screws with springs by them. These are for aiming purposes, only.

3/8 bolts with standard SAE threads that are no less than one inch long. these bolts will have a 9/16 head. i recomend GRADE 8 bolts. lesser grade bolts will work but can sheer. i used 1 1/4 inch long bolts on my big block with no issues. oh and there are 6 bolts that go from bell to block

pull inside door panels off and unbolt the handle from the door from the inside, install new gasket and rebolt handle.

unhook on the tranny and reach up under the dash and release from back of speedometer, pull it out and install new one.

Yep! It will bolt right in. The Chevelle was designed to handle the big block from day one. Externally, the 572 is virtually the same as a 396, it just has a slightly taller deck height because it is based on the 427 truck block. It will be a little taller and wider than a 396, but it will still bolt right in.
