A serious manufacturing defect. Take it to dealer for repair or you may lose any remaining warranty by abusing the vehicle. If the car is out of the warranty the thermostat may not be opening or stuck, the radiator fan may not be operating, the engine coolant may be low, the head gasket may be bad, the temperature sending unit may be defective and indicating incorrect temperature. Get it repaired by a good mechanic if you are not one yourself.

you need 1.25'' wrench to open because this thing is plastic you need extra care to open

Some times mine get's stuck in park, what i do for mine is rock the steering gentley from side to side.If it gets stuck on a hill, then have someone sit it while another person rocks the whole car front to back.

hook the OBDII connector to the canooter valve and twist the transvecular nut clockwise and wait 30 seconds for reboot

with a little modification 20's will fit on anything but you will have NO turning radius and be VERY careful over even the smallest bumps! i have 22 on mine with 4 inch spring

The purge valve solenoid costs $278 for my Mazda 626 DX 2, 1997 model.

There are a variety of options for one to purchase accessories for a Chevy Cobalt. One of the best options is the Everything Cobalt site which offers just about any kind of accessory available for the Cobalt. Other options for accessories are Auto Anything and Auto Parts Warehouse.

The most likely problem comes from the fuel injector seals or the injectors.

"Blowing" Fuses Fuses and Circuit Breakers are safety devices designed and installed in electrical circuits TO PROTECT the conductors [wires] from short circuits and overload conditions which can cause extreme overheating which can result in damage to the conductors, and worse, the possibility of a FIRE which could destroy the vehicle. When a fuse, and replacement fuses, repeatedly blow, is an indicator of an UNSAFE CONDITION in that circuit, usually a short. Do not install a larger fuse in a misguided attempt to correct the problem. To install a larger fuse would invite damage to the wiring and an electrical system fire. The proper "fix" is for a qualified technician, who knows what he/she's doing, to * troubleshoot the circuit, * find and identify the defect, and make proper repair [s], BEFORE replacing the fuse again [with the properly sized fuse].

Yes. It is a sports car...if you're a 16 year old girl. If you're not a 16 year old girl, it's an econo-box that gets good gas mileage that looks sporty. I'm sure it's sportier than a Ford Focus or Toyota Yaris though. You need to look at the Scion TC or the Acura RSX. You can get a 2-3 year old RSX for the price of a new Cobalt. If, however you want to know what a real sports car is, look at a Mustang. That's probably the cheapest REAL sports car on the market.

I disagree. A turbo charged SS will likely give a similarly priced mustang a run for its money. No a cobalt isn't a mustle car, as you'll always have just a 4 cyl, but depending on your tastes it can be a sporty car. It can also have some goos speed with little work (or an SS upgrade).

I just read that you remove the filler cap and then the large plastic shroud will lift up. The filter is in a canister on the side of the engine to the front. The filter is an insert, into the canister, not like the old spin ons.

Turn ignition to run engine off. Display OIL LIFE RESET in the Driver Information Center (DIC). Press and hold the ENTER button for at least one second. An ACKNOWLEDGED' display message will appear for three second or until the next button is pressed. This will tell you the system has been reset. Turn the key to OFF. If the "CHANGE ENGINE OIL" message comes back on when you start your vehicle, the engine oil life system has not reset. Repeat the procedure.

that is correct, the battery is in the trunk under the removable slat and next to the spare tire.....but...that wasn't the question, I believe. Unfortunately, I have had recent similar issues with trying to find a battery for my 2006 Cobalt for under $110.00. Walmart does not carry one, Auto Zone and O'Reilley's carry only 1 type and they just happen to be the "Gold" models which translates to "Gold" prices and the cheapest between those two was $111.00. I'm considering going to salvage yard and seeing if I can find one to pull. I'm not sure what the dillemma is with the Cobalt and its "special" battery classification but you would think it was Corvette under these circumstances. Let me know if you can find one that's reasonable. Hope your luck is better than mine.

i work fro a Chevy dealer and when your display goes bad it means radio replacement time. if your dash light work and not the radio you will need to replace the radio

open the glove box, on one side there is a string holding it up, unhook it.

Squeeze the back of it and let the glove box swing all the way down.

In the back there should be a snapping cover, unsnap it and open it, pull it out and replace it.

rear 6"X9" and the front is 6.5"

This is really tricky, Chevy has designed it to seemingly make you have to take it to the dealership. I placed my SS on a lift.. the air filter is located under the car in front of the left front tire. you will have to remove the plastic fender, once you do this you will see the air box assembly and be able to replace your filter,, its a real pain to do this!! thanks Chevy!!

The timing chain is located on the left side of the engine, to access it you will need to take off the manifold cover.

I buy a 5 or 5.5 quart container from the Autoparts store and typically the entire thing will fit inside the system

The sensor is located on top of the transmission, and should be easy to unscrew. It is recommended that you change both input and output at the same time.
