I have a 2007 cobalt with a 5 speed manual, 2.2 ecotec engine, driving mostly highway. It just turned 180k. i only changed front wheel bearings, rubber bushings on the lower a frame, brake pads and oil too of course. These parts were not relatively expensive. I would say this car is very reliable and economical to drive. The interior is kind of cheap looking, but we need make some sacrifices to support those "struggling" UAW people I suppose.

I currently own a 2006 Cobalt and I was having the same problem. The main thing that you should do is to do a maintenance on it. Not saying that it could be a number of other problems, but you should change the oil regularly,(they say every 3,000 miles, but look at the Info center on the dash and try to change it before it hits single digits), replace the air filter and fuel filter, and possibly change out the old spark plugs and wires. After doing this to mine, I saw a 3.0 mpg increase and ran a whole lot smoother.

There is a plate on top of the engine with four Allen head screws, remove that and the plugs are there, you will need i belive a 10mm socket to take the plug wires off. This is how they are on a 2007 SS i am not sure about what model you have.

try turning the steering wheel it might be sprung causing the key from turning all the way. or try pushing on the shift lever, it will not lock the wheel until the care is in park !

is your steering wheel locked?? try turning your wheel hard either way and turn the key.

there has been a recall on power steering for the 05-2010 cobalt check with your local GM dealer and have it replaced

Any Kind will, but you need a couple of special adaptors if you are running On-star and have steering wheel buttons that already run your facotry stereo. (Volume etc.)

You can expect a good gain of about 8-10HP and 7-8 FT-LBS of torque...this is average for most vehicles, though for our cobalts because the air intake is in the fender well we notice this much better, also mileage will increase as well

Could be many different things....if you have check engine light, that is best place to start. If not, you can take a look at vehicle PID's. I wouldnt think it is a timing or fuel system issue, if you only have the problem on decel. Maybe EGR fault or vacuum leak.

Chevrolet Cobalt come in many different colors. It comes in yellow, black, red, blue and others. The Chevrolet Cobalt was discontinued so you have to find who is selling it and what color they have.
