How do you troubleshoot the 1996 Corvette PKE system?
I'm having issues with mine as well. One day me locks started to cycle erratically and my hatch popped open. Now there is no response whatsoever and it will not even enter the programming mode. My research has concluded that the PKE computer has gone bad. It is located under the top dash pad. Now I have to buy it for $250 and figure out how to remove the pad. Hope this is of some help.

How do you remove the heater core in a 1977 Corvette?
Started this today. Remove instrument cluster in center console (gauges/radio), just pull it 3-4 inches. Locate 5 screws on passenger dash, 2 are on windshield post, and remove panel. This where I am now. It appears you have to remove the heat/defroster manifold located behind the gauges and to do that it seems the drivers dash panel must also come out.. There are several bolt/nuts on the large blower unit. I believe once you do that, the heater core should be accessable (sp?). Don't forget theres also supposedly 4 bolts/nuts on the firewall under the hood. I found 1 so far but haven't jacked up the car and looked from the bottom, which knowing good old corvettes are where they're probably at. Anyhow, 1st day of college football and quit till next week. The C4 headlights have a plastic driver gear in the motors. The plastic gear is driven by a steel worm gear, needless to say metal against plastic equals trouble. One other issue is that the plastic gear is packed on the underside with some type of gel from the factory. This gel turns to powder over time and the gear will free spin. Either way, you can get replacement gears and the gel through GM or shop the aftermarket Vette shops. You have to completely remove the head lamp door to get the motor out, unless you are like me and can get a little creative, you can carefully pry the bottom of the motor out enough to get the bottom left bolt out. 5hope this helps, Good Luck
