When can a child travel without a car seat?
This is opinion and should be treated as such:
You must check with each state, as the law varies from state to state. Check with the dept of motor vehicles or the local police/fire dept. I believe the minimum age in most states is 6 years old. Of course, that is for booster seats. My children started using booster seats at about age three. In my opinion, it is best to judge by the child's weight, not age, and choose a safety seat made for the weight of the child. I believe it has been recommended by safety experts that a child should be in a booster until a normal seat belt sits on them appropriately, about age 8. Of course, you should always follow the laws of the state in which you are driving and keep the child in a safety seat until they are past that age. Good Luck!

Well as from how I could understand if you are to install in the 2nd row in a rear face position is what i have... is that if it touches the front seats its wrong. Well as we got a Alpha Omega Elite seat... I ended up removing the middle row seat .. or in some cases remove the 1 seat behind the passenger if you hace captains chairs for seats.. and install in the very back... use the shoulder strap as directed and use the rear tether to the floor anchor bolt. Pull tight for proper angle and your done. It seems proper but the only option I found with my seat and 98 caravan. Seems dumb but its all I can tell

Yes there is a seat that will offer a 5pt harness to 80lbs. It is called the Britax Husky. You can find it on Britax's website at www.britaxusa.com . There is many places online that also sell them. The seat does cost about $200 though, but a Britax is WELL worth every single penny! :o)

If your talking about the booster seat without a back then NO, It is not safe for the child to ride with only a lap belt.

If the vehicle has two rows, the middle of the back seat. If the vehicle has 3 rows, the middle of the second seat. And that just about says it all. Even with side impact protection, airbags, door beams etc, the safest place for any child seat is as far as possible from the potential impact. The absolute middle fo the vehicle is ideal. The above answers are correct. However, it is not always possible to put the seat in the center position. Some vehicles prohibit the use of the center position for a carseat (IE Chevy Blazer), so ALWAYS double check your vehical owners manual. Also sometimes the carseat won't fit well in the center position, so in such a case you would try it in the outboard positions. If it fits there better then in the center, it is better to have the seat in the outboard position. A great fit outboard is better then a poor fit center. How do you remove the Rear speakers in a 2003 Dodge Neon SXT with the child safety seat anchors?
Take off the panels above where your 6x9's are, they pull right out. Stick your fingers in between the edges of the chair and the carpet in the back, and just pull it out. its more like a cardboard with carpet on it, anyways your speakers will be exposed and just start unscrewing them. That's it!
^this wont work....you have to remove the rear seat, then you can take the carpeting/board off which will expose the speakers
