What is the legal age for a child to be left home alone overnight in the UK?

The law does notseta minimum ageat which childrencan be left alone. However, it is an offence to leave a child alone when doing so puts him or her at risk. Consider the event of a fire or an accident. Your decision to leave them alone if those thingsoccured could result in your child being injured or dead, they could betaken away from you permantently and put into care. Common sense..I myself would never have left my child alone before the age of 13 for a short time(half a day stating when exactly I would be home)and at 18yrs oldfor a weekend. Always leave a contact number for themt o get in touch withyou, and preferably of a grandparent or someone you and theytrust also.

What law prohibits an 18-year-old in Nebraska from leaving the state to get married?

It's not a state law it is a federal law. It speaks to the taking of a minor across state lines without permission from the minor's parents, regardless of the reason it is done. It is based upon the same premise as kidnapping laws and pertains to all minors with the exception that it does not address the issue of "against one's will" unless the minor is below the age of 12 or in some instances 16. It's found in various forms in United States Code Title 18, Crimes and Criminal Procedure. Regardless of the circumstances, prosecutors always can find at least one federal and state statute that can be used to charge the adult with a felony, and they like doing it. It's been my experience that judges also enjoy seeing adults who commit criminal offenses such as the one being discussed convicted and always impose maximum sentences. Which, all things considered is as it should be.

How do you tell a 12 year old boy you like them?

Well I'm 11 and I liked this boy who is 12, i text him and said "do you like me?" he said, a little bit, and I said that I liked him. Turns out he had actually liked me the last 2 years. He asked me out the next day and we have been going out for 3 months now and theres still many months to come.

Can I Leave Home At The Age 17 In Delaware Without My Parents Consent?

No, the age at which a person is no longer considered a minor under Pennsylvania law is 18!!. A minor leaving home against the wishes of the parents or guardian can be picked up by authorities and remanded into the custody of PA. Children and Youth Services. Pennsylvania is a state whose laws pertaining to minors are confusing to say the least. Each county establishes codes that relate to what a minor may or may not legally do, including the option of petitioning the court for emancipation rights. However, state law determines the age of majority, a classic example of convoluted logic in action.

Can a Florida mother receive child support even if she owes child support on a previous case?

If the mother isn't receiving any kind of assistance from the government, she can waive the right to child support from the father, but it wouldn't be in the child's best interest. Child support is the child's right, not the mother's. If the mother were really well off financially, or if she didn't want the father anywhere around the child, she could waive the child's right to support. The father has a responsibility to help take care of the child he helped bring into this world.

ClarificationGenerally, in the US, a mother cannot legally waive a child's right to support from their father. A child is legally entitled to be supported by both parents. However, the mother can choose to not involve the court if the parents were never married or if there will be no divorce action filed. However, if the mother doesn't want the money she should put in a college fund for the child.

What is the curfew for minors?

According to the Texas Local Governments code, chapter 351, section 903, each individual municipality or county in Texas has the right to establish its own curfew. Correspondingly, there is no state curfew, and you should instead check with the local police department, sheriff's office, county courthouse, precinct annex, etc. in whatever municipality or county you're in to find locally-specific information.

Is john harris gay?

My guess is No since he was married to the same woman for 39 years until his death in 2002. He also had 1 son. But then again, being married and having children does not necessarily mean he was not gay, but he certainly was effeminate at the very least. just sayin.

What age can you kick your son out of the house at in Oregon?

Yes. A 20-year old is an adult. A parent or other is not "liable" for the 20-year old any more (unless by court order). This individual is "on his own" in this case. If the homeowner wants the person out of the home, a call to the police will make it happen. Then all that's needed is a restraining order. Best of luck sorting this one out.

How can you tell if a baby bird is a boy or a girl?

(i left the joke under cause it deserves to(:)

well if the dog, has a penis, then its a boy, if it doesn't then its a girl.

sometimes the boys have dots near their penis that looks like the girls parts, but idk about that, but point is:

penis = boy

no penis = girl

This remind's me of a joke. A father took his children to a garage sale one morning, when they got home mum asked what did they see there, one child replied puppies, their mother asked were they male or female, the child replied their were 2 males and 1 female, how did you know that mum asked, the child replied, dad kept picking them and looking under their belly i supposed it must have printed there.

Does a 15 year old father have rights to his child?

A minor who becomes a parent has the same legal rights to their child as an adult parent. In such a case the young man would need to establish proof paternity before he would be able to file for his custodial rights. Such proof is best obtained through DNA testing although the majority of state's will accept blood test results.

If father paying child support has another child does child support go down?

No, in the U.S. the children of a first marriage take precedence in regards to child support. The law assumes that a person remarries and the person who becomes the new spouse accept the obligation for supporting all previously born children. Although this often institutes a hardship on second families, it is still the choice that a new spouse makes when marrying someone who has such obligations as child support and/or spousal maintenance (alimony).

What Age can children be left alone in Tennessee?

There are very few states in the U.S. with legal minimum ages for children home alone, but many state agencies have published guidelines. Georgia, Illiniois, Maryland and Oregon are a few of the states with specific ages specified in their laws.

12 years of age appears to be the most common recommendation. Below in Related Links is an article entitled Home Alone Children Legal Age Limits which provides one guideline from a California agency representative who suggests that 8 year olds and over can be left at home for up to several hours (usually after school before a parent gets home from work). This site also provides a state by state comparison with references. The Tennessee citation referenced in this link (Tennessee Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges) states: "There is no legal age for children to stay at home alone. Parents are advised to use their best judgment, keeping the child's maturity level and safety issues in mind."

How do you change your child's surname?

You file the completed forms at the courthouse and attend a hearing. Some states require that you publish a notice in the local newspaper too. It is easier when both parents agree to the child's name change.

If you get married in a state where it is legal for a 16-year-old to do so without parental consent can your parents annul the marriage?

Sorry to rain on your parade, but there are no states in the union that allow a 16 year old to get married without parental permission. Matter of fact, not even Canada and Mexico allow this. It would be better to wait out the two years and get married when you're a legal adult. If you cannot wait two years, then you are not really mature enough to marry in the first place.

What if the custodial parent does not allow the child to see the non-custodial parent even though the court said she can - does the non-custodial parents still have to pay support?

Child support and visitation rights are two entirely different issues. The terms of visitation should have been determined before divorce proceedings and finalized when the divorce decree was awarded. The court generally prefers the parents reach an amicable agreement for reasonable visitation by the non-custodial parent. If specified days/times have been ordered by the court the custodial parent must allow visitation or risk being in contempt of a court order.

Can an 18 year old legally drink alcohol at home?

"You can be 10 years old and drink in Virginia," said Beth Straeten, a spokeswoman for the state's Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.

At a time when some in the community are ex- amining the role of alcohol in the wake of traffic deaths, injuries and broken futures, Virginia remains one of the many states whose laws specifically tolerate a parent providing alcohol to an underage person. Eleven states, Virginia among them, say providing alcohol to an underage son or daughter can only occur in the home. Twenty other states say parents can provide alcohol to their children anywhere.

The Virginia exception was passed during the 2006 legislature. It drew only two negative votes and won the signature of Gov. Timothy M. Kaine. Kaine's office declined to comment on the law last week. A spokesman for Attorney General Bob McDonnell also declined to comment.

What are the causes of child labour?

THE CAUSES ARE:

International Labour Organisation (ILO) suggests poverty is the greatest single cause behind child labour. For impoverished households, income from a child's work is usually crucial for his or her own survival or for that of the household. Income from working children, even if small, may be between 25 to 40% of these household income. Other scholars such as Harsch on African child labour, and Edmonds and Pavcnik on global child labour have reached the same conclusion.

Lack of meaningful alternatives, such as affordable schools and quality education, according to ILO, is another major factor driving children to harmful labour. Children work because they have nothing better to do. Many communities, particularly rural areas where between 60-70% of child labour is prevalent, do not possess adequate school facilities. Even when schools are sometimes available, they are too far away, difficult to reach, unaffordable or the quality of education is so poor that parents wonder if going to school is really worth it.

Can a 16-year-old decide which parent he wants to live with regardless of who has custody?

If you mean without your parent's consent the answer is no. Relating to a divorce, some state courts will consider your request regarding residential custody but are not obligated to follow it. In many states you can apply for emancipation by the court at the age of 16. In that case you need to check the laws of your state or country.
