I'm looking up this site to see how to get the starter out. It is located in front center of the engine above the front motor mount. You can see it from under the car looking up between the front catalytic converter and the engine block. Good luck getting to it.

Remove the plugs one at a time and replace with a new plug you have gapped properly. Tighten to the proper torque Do not over-torque plugs. You risk damage to cylinder heads (particularly aluminum ones), and proper firing depends on the plug being at precisely the right height relative to the cylinder. I will list a link to Torque Specs. below. It is necessary to remove the upper intake plenum. Purchase the intake gaskets when you purchase the plugs. You also have to remove the coils one at a time, remove the plugs w/a 5/8" spark plug socket, coat the threads of the new plug with a small dab of anti size compound, thread the plugs in using only the socket and extension after the contact the head tighten an additional 1/16 turn.

Yes, a transmission from a 98 Sebring will work in a 97 Sebring. This is because they are both a 2.5 liter engine and both are auto sticks.

Behind the thermostat housing. The thermostat housing is located at the rear end of the top radiator hose. Follow the top radiator hose. It leads to the thermostat housing. There are either two or three bolts holding it in place. The bottom one can be tricky to remove. A quarter inch universal joint with a socket might work well.

Unlike many cars which have a thermostat positioned horizontally, the 1999 Sebring 2.5 V-6 has the thermostat positioned vertically. It can be very tricky to get it into proper position while replacing it and putting the housing over it. It is sometimes easier to put the thermostat into the housing, and then placing the housing in position, and then placing the three screws in as far as possible using your fingers. Also, using a small amount of thick grease to hold it in position in the housing can help.

I believe there might be a tab on the thermostat that must be placed into an indent in the housing, but not sure.

I have this car, and have replaced the thermostat myself. The bolts are probably 10mm. The quarter inch or three eighth inch universal joint with an extension and a standard depth socket is almost required for the bottom bolt.

The most likely common cause is a failed clockspring in the steering column.

The battery is located under the hood on the right hand side of the vehical or( drivers side).

The Thermostat is not located in the conventional position at top off engine, but rather is at the bottom right side of engine "copilots side". Follow lower radiator hose to where it attachs to engine. Probable don't need a new gasket as it is reusably. You will loose all the antifreeze in the radiater unless you collect it. Install thermostat, refill with NEW antifreeze from top radiator hose into radiator and in cooling tank. Bring engine up to operatiing temperature and wait till fan comes on so that you know its hot. Make sure tank is full, add as needed. Then open air bleed screw at top of engine where upper radiator attaches to. Keep open until all air is out of system. DON"T BURN YOURSELF. Use a short hose attached to bleed screw and a small bottle to catch antifreeze. Hose should be at bottom of bottle with some antifeeze in it. You will see air bubbling out. Once all air is out and there is a steady stream, close bleed screw. After a few days of driving, bleed air out again.
