if you take it to a garage they will profesionally fix it for you for a amount of money that may be easier than trying to fix it yourself!
Normal operating temperature for your xantia is between 80 to 90.
To disarm the alarm without the remote control, just incase your remote/blip key doesn't work:
- unlock the doors with the key and enter the vehicle (this will start the alarm off)
- within 10 seconds of the alarm sounding, press and hold the ultrasonics override switch (to the right of the steering wheel) whilst turning on the ignition.
If necessary, repeat the procedure if the siren restarts (after 30 seconds)
I have to do this each time I disconnect and reconnect the battery.

To reconnect a disconnected battery without the alarm going off, simply put the key in the ignition and turn it to the "ignition on" position. Then connect your battery . Dead easy and peaceful too! Oh! remember to remove your keys before you forget where you put them!!
Yes very much so. They are built on the same chassis and share the same engines and parts etc. The main difference is that the Xantia employs Hydractive suspension (which provides an extremely smooth ride and eliminates body roll) whereas the 406 uses conventional parabolic springs.
Listen for a "click" when the pre-warm lamp light goes out. After the lights gone out, wait about 5 secs before turning the key. Could also be a blocked fuel filter, and check that you glow plugs are in tight enogh or diesel will need to prime every time you start it. Also battery condition!
No. They are entirely different. It's a matter of output as well as the type of suspension you have.
