The BSI unit is basically a computer which

handles a multitude of functions such as

odometer value, central locking, lights and

immobiliser. Some later Bsi units are liable

to corrupt their own software program if

not "woken up" in a specific way after

programming keys or battery disconnection.

The details of this are explored

thoroughly in a Peugeot TSB but I will

summarise for you briefly.

Procedure for Initialising the BSI after key learning

1. Disconnect the diagnostic tool.If being used.

2. Put the driver's window down, lift the bonnet and ensure all

equipment is switched off.

3. Ensure all doors are closed and remove key from the

ignition.

4. Wait for 3 minutes, disconnect the vehicle battery and wait

15 seconds.

5. Reconnect the vehicle battery, wait a further 10 seconds (do

not open doors.)

6. Switch on the side lights through the driver's window.

7. Switch on the ignition and check system's functionality.

8. Hold lock button on key down for 10 seconds.

9.remove key open & close door test c entral locking system

10. Start the engine and complete the system's check.

Failure to follow this procedure could result in incorrect operation of many

BSI related items.

It did take three attempts following this procedure before it worked.

Requires lots of patience and time as vision and access is restricted. Open the cover of the headlight by undoing the clips. Detach the wires of the bulb. Then put your fingers inside to feel for the spring/clip which holds the bulb. You need to press the clip to release and then the bulb will come out. Good light and a small mirror will help to locate the clip. Replace the bulb, push back the clip to hold the bulb and push back the connector with the wires. Close and seal the unit properly otherwise you may get condensation and water inside the headlamps.

undo the ht pack with 10mm spanner remove it long reach flexible 17mm spark plug remover sorted

The reverse light sensor is located at the side of the gearbox and has two wires running to it. To test run a wire across the two and if it lights up that is your problem.

Hey,

I have the same problem and all I could figure out was that the sensors give an incorrect signal during wet/damp conditions such as rain or thaw.

Have you solved this, any tips?

hid under the large black plastic air inlet pipe between the battery and the side of the engine, this pipe needs removing 1st. the filter has to be tight to the correct torque is plastic could easily be damaged. not easy at all.

the heater doesnt work in my saxo dont know where the fuse or relay is

Speak to Citroen, quote VIN, model and registration and they will give advice. Like me, they would need to be satisfied that it's your vehicle

Reseting a service light can be down using a professional diagnostic tool and plugging directly to the ECM. A quicker way requires unplugging the battery for 5 seconds. But unplugging the battery will also reset the stereo.

C3 Picasso 2010 air filter change is not a big deal, no need to remove the wipers or drop the engine! First remove all of the plastic air and turbo intake tubes and the small engine cover, unclip the electical connection. Unscrew the three 4mm allen bolts on the top of the air filter housing (they are on the front and right hand side), I used a small 1/4" socket set driver, remove the air filter cover and remove the old air filter. Replace filter, refit cover and everything else in reverse order. Job done!
