What are the hindrances to achieving gender equality?

Capitalism

I am going to focus on western culture, as I think that it would be fair to say that in some other parts of the world such reasons as religion could not too unfairly be singled out.

So concentrating on the main western countries, the hindrance to equality between the genders is capitalism. This is for a variety of reasons. However, there is one overriding factor and that is capitalism creates a profit before almost anything else culture.

Firstly I think that it is important to explore some of the inequalities that there are between the genders. These include such facts as women are unequal to men in the fact that very often perspective employers are not that keen to give them equal jobs to men as they see them as being a potential liability in financial terms. This is obviously because it is the women who are the ones who give birth to children and then have to take time out of their work. Employers then have to try to find a suitable replacement as well as in many cases having to fork out payment for maternity leave. Very few employers are prepared to provide any after care such as crèche facilities as this costs money too.

Added to this it is estimated that women in Britain on average will earn as much 180,000 GB pounds less in the UK over the course of their lifetime than a man. This can and often does put men in a far more dominant position than the majority of women.

So to address the actual question asked which was what are the hindrances to achieving gender equality? I would say that capitalism is the main one as it divides the genders as each gender tends to take on a somewhat predetermined role.

So my conclusion is that only revolution and the overthrow of capitalism leading to communism is the answer.

Religion

Gender relations are the result of the way social practices act to form social relations. Most religions are male dominated. Religion cannot be ignored as the most fundamental, pervasive and universal hindrance to gender equality both in the East and the West.

Male dominance has characterized human relations throughout human history. Several schools of thought hold that organized religion was developed as a means to keep women subordinated to men. Throughout human history religious doctrines have defined and reinforced the subservient role of woman both in religious and public life. Her position was defined as a helpmate to the men in her life and her place was the home. She was to serve first her father then her husband. She was viewed as property. She was not educated. She could not take part in political life. She had no legal power nor influence. She was sequestered and not allowed to experience life freely as her brothers.

The countries with the least religious influence are the most gender-egalitarian. In the West, religious influence in laws that benefitted men and denied legal rights to women prevailed into the twentieth century. In the East, they still prevail.

Can your employer Require you to go to Alcoholics anonymous?

Can a case go on without evidence?

I have never heard of one. In order to make an arrest there HAD to be 'probable cause' that a crime had been committed. At the very least the arresting officer could testify to that, and that in itself would be considered evidentiary testimony.

What is an example of respect for the individual?

Most aspects of a good relationship come back to the idea of respect. If you respect someone, you will be loyal and honest with them. In addition, you respect their points of view and needs in a relationship. If your significant other doesnt want you to hang out with the opposite sex alone, out of respect, you shouldn't do it. If your significant other cannot spend time with you due to other responsibilities such as a job or homework, out of respect you should understand that. If your significant other wants to do something you might not want to do, out of respect you should do it depending on the subject matter.

How do you help your brain dead mother who is being robbed?

You should make an appointment to speak with the District Attorney's office in your jurisdiction. You must bring any proof you have of all the crimes that have been committed by the lawyer and the prior (annulled) husband. You can get a copy of the marriage annulment and any inventories that were filed by the initial guardian. You can get a copy of the inventory filed by the new guardian. Those case files are public. You should bring any proof of bank accounts, what they once held and evidence of the millions that have been removed. Stick to the facts, stay calm and act professional. The authorities will not listen to you if you simply make empty, extravagant claims of missing millions.

What was the reason that the Palmer Raids were seen as a violation against civil liberties?

The Palmer Raids, conducted in 1919-1920, were seen as a violation of civil liberties due to their widespread use of warrantless searches, arrests, and deportations targeting suspected radicals, particularly immigrants. Many individuals were detained without proper legal procedures, often based on flimsy evidence or political beliefs rather than actual criminal activity. This aggressive crackdown on dissent contributed to fears of government overreach and the suppression of free speech and assembly, raising serious concerns about the erosion of constitutional rights during a period of heightened social tension.

The early civil rights legislation passed in 1957, 1960, and 1964 marked critical steps in the fight against racial discrimination and inequality in the United States. The Civil Rights Act of 1964, in particular, was groundbreaking as it prohibited discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, or national origin, laying the foundation for future civil rights protections. These laws aimed to dismantle systemic barriers and promote voting rights, contributing to the broader civil rights movement's efforts to achieve social justice and equality for African Americans and other marginalized groups. Why the Miranda Rights are important and should be read to an individual regardless of the circumstances?

The Miranda Rights are crucial because they protect an individual's Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination and ensure the Sixth Amendment right to legal counsel. Reading these rights guarantees that individuals are fully aware of their legal protections and the implications of speaking to law enforcement. Regardless of the circumstances, this process upholds the principle of due process and helps prevent coercive interrogations, ensuring that any statements made are truly voluntary and informed. This foundation is essential for maintaining a fair justice system.
