After seven seasons, when Bea Arthur decided to leave the show, NBC decided to end the series. Golden Palace on CBS was a spin-off continuation of the series which starred Betty White, Rue McClanahan & Estelle Getty. It only lasted one season ending in May 1993.

They were originally known as the Our Gang Comedies- Little Rascals a subtitle or alternate name.

Howdy Doody was a child or an adult, or just what the status of Mr.Bluster was, he may have been a businessman, he was not a politician to my knowledge. ( Phineas T Bluster was his full name, more or less a Scrooge-type, but non-violent comic villain.)

Jack Parr. He was the inventor of the Tonight show, and was it's first host. xxxxxxxxx Actually, it is Jack Paar (2 A's). And, he was not the first host of the Tonight Show. The first host was Steve Allen. xxx Check your facts Jack Paar was the first, and Steve Allen was the second. xxx According to imdb.com, which is not always correct, Steve Allen hosted Tonight! from 1953 to 1957. Jack Paar hosted The Jack Paar Tonight Show from 1957 to 1962. People are often confused by the fact that Allen hosted The Steve Allen Show (a weekly show) from 1956 to 1960, and The New Steve Allen Show (nightly) from 1961-1964. The New Steve Allen Show had a format similar to The Tonight Show, but was a competing show. NBC had him quit Tonight!, a successful show, so he could focus his energy on the weekly show, which competed with Ed Sullivan.

Howdy Doody was the lead, marionette character, ostensibly Western, of the long-lived Juvenile program hosted by ( Buffalo) Bob Smith from about l947-6l. The program was one of the few live juvenile shows that did not have a captive, professional cast like the Mickey Mouse Club. also unusual it did not at any time, feature cartoons. Howdy Doody was both a frontier greeting- from the Standard, How Do You Do? and the name of the title character, who had 48 freckles, a pseudo western get-up and checked shirt. The come on was ( Say Kids! What time is it? ) and Kids was slurred to sound something like ( Saay, Keds- a well-known brand of sneakers. then they would immediately segway into the popular theme song. For some odd reason Howdy Doody (not normally hyphenated) was banned in out household when I was a kid- science fiction shows were okay and such things as (Topper) I liked the vintage cars- but not Howdy. To this day I wonder why.

If I am not mistaken the Drummer was a male child named Danny- who was played by Dante Bonaduce. It is very unusual to find a female drummer outside of say, high school marching bands. Danny was the drummer.
