Yes, they are safe to use and I am a big fan of Apple computers. The Macbook will work as well as any other computer. I own an iMac and Macbook Pro myself. I would never ever buy a Windows laptop. But you are in Afghanistan so my advice would be to buy a cheap Windows laptop. Toshiba, & Lenovo are very reliable and inexpensive. Avoid HP, Dell, Asus, & Sony as they are not reliable. By buying a cheap laptop it will do all you need and if you loose it or it gets damaged you will not loose too much. When you come home you can get yourself a great Macbook Pro. But if you know there is no chance of it getting damaged or lost, then go for it and get a Mac.

The first thing I would try is to hold down the menu button for 15 seconds. This should work but if it doesn't then try this:

* Turn the computer and monitor off

* Disconnect all monitor cabling from the monitor (power, USB, VGA, DVI, etc.)

* Press and hold in the monitor power button in for 5 seconds

* Reconnect the monitor to the computer

* Reconnect the monitor power cord to the monitor

* Turn on the monitor, then the computer

That depends. Centrino is more of a technology used on processors, rather than a processor itself. Look at the actual processor type when you are looking at the specs. if it is a Mobile Pentium, the Athlon 62x2 is a better processor in most cases. However, if it is anything from the Core Duo or Core2 Duo line, they will be better than the Athlon in most cases.

Wow...well, I'd say $600, but I've noticed that even the cheap laptops raise every time the gas prices raise...expect around 700 Why do they have to haul small things like laptops in large semis? Why can't they do it in a Caravan or a Uhaul-like thing, something smaller, cheaper to refuel than a semi so we don't have to pay for it to be shipped. Yes. Although alienware is made for gaming, it's high quality media preferences allow for beautiful graphic's and with all alienware computers you are sure to get a powerhouse built for the stress of high end gaming. Plus it run's window's, which allow for ton's of programs that you would miss out on with a mac. I am no expert so I would recommend doing some research on their website before any purchase though.

I'd buy an Alienware laptop. They are supposed to be one of the best laptops money can buy. They look good and are amazing when watching a video or playing a game online. Yes I totally agree from the above mentioned answer. You should go for an alienware laptop. if you mean why is a desktop preferred over a laptop. then i would answer that they aren't and that laptops are preferred because of their convenience
