What should you do when you press the button to start your PC and it does not start?

Assuming that your PC is a desktop the first thing that you should do is check all of your power connections. Make sure that your PC is securely plugged into a wall socket or surge protector and that your power cable is securely fastened into the rear of your PC. Next make sure that your voltage selector switch on the rear of the PC located near the location where your power cable connects. This selector switch, if you are in the US or Canada should be set to 115. Next, make sure the power switch on the front of your PC is not stuck and that there is tension (sometimes the spring gets stuck and when you press the button it does not respond). If after checking all of these items then their may be an issue with your PC's power supply. A couple of items to check is to verify that when you press the power button on the outside of your PC is if any LED's flash or light up. Also, one other item to check is when you press the power button is to check and see if the power supply fan (on back of PC located near power cord) spins briefly or if it spins at all. If none of these items are occurring than it may be that your power supply has gone bad. One other slight possibility is that the wires connecting your power button to your motherboard may have come loose or have a short in them. I hope that this helps.

When you try to start your PC it doesn't start the first time and when you restart it starts what would be the problem?

It's possible that when you first try to start up the computer, you're not depressing the button firmly enough. I had that problem with a laptop ... I'd push the button, then turn away doing something else and when I turned around again, it hasn't booted up. So I depressed the button again. This time with a bit more firmness. I now make sure I depress any buttons firmly, but not jabbing at it. Just my opinion.

What is the difference between CPLD and microcontroller?

Complex programmable logic device (CPLD) are programmable digital logic devices which are simpler and lesser capacity than FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Arrays) devices. CPLDs have a non-volatile memory (i.e. turning off the power does not require reprogramming of CPLD)

Microcontrollers (uP or MCU) are small and cost effective but self contained computer chips (compared to general purpose processor chips used in personal computers) used for embedded applications in industrial, consumer electronics products and automobiles. Microcontrollers may or may not have inbuilt memory.

CPLDs are used for implementing logic but they do not have a embedded processor like in microcontrollers.

Why is all data in binary format?

A computer's hard disk stores data by setting the magnetic polarisation of a sector to one of two possible states. We can represent these two alternatives as 0 & 1. We can then use a combination of stored "0's & 1's" to represent any data we wish.

A2

Binary has only 2 states, one and zero.

An electrical switch has only 2 states, On and Off.

Computers use electricity to operate and so can use transistor switches in an on or off state to represent any number.

Everything to do with digital computers is in binary, in it's basic form.

You only perceive data as something else when this binary information is acted upon by program which translates it.

What is autoprobing?

Once the kernel starts, it has to look around, find the rest of the hardware, and get ready to run programs.

It does this by poking not at ordinary memory locations but rather at I/O ports - special bus addresses that are likely to have device controller cards listening at them for commands.

The kernel doesn't poke at random; it has a lot of built-in knowledge about what it's likely to find where, and how controllers will respond if they're present.

This process is called autoprobing.

What is the best graphic card for 150.00?

Radeon HD 6770 i think is the model. it plays CoD and similar stuff around 80 fps minimum and is about $120.

For a low end card, the HD 6770 is quite a good card and a tad better than "mainstream." If you can find an nVidia card at that price, then you should likely go for it. Just check published benchmarks before buying.
