What is the difference between branded and non-branded computers.?
To put it very simply, branding. "Branding" would be when someone sticks their logo on the case, the BIOS splash screen, and perhaps a sticker on the motherboard. Hardware-wise, branded computers use the same or very similar hardware to those found in unbranded bulk computers, or computers that people have built themselves. So a Dell, HP, or Acer may have almost the exact same configuration, but a different logo on the case.

What is a graphics processing unit specialized to handle?
GPU's are specialized to handle all information at once
CPU's are specialized at handling one task at a time.
a CPU dose one task at a time but switches between tasks fast enough that we don't perceive it.
the GPU dose all tasks at the same time, as a result is much faster and has typically been more suited to deliver a image to a screen in applications such as gaming. modern GPU's however have managed to find ways to bridge the gap between CPU/GPU technology and have shown to compute most tasks faster than CPU's
Some consumer GPU's have been shown to compute at terraflop levels which is several times faster than any consumer CPU's on the market.
(btw please don't edit this answer if you have no idea what your talking about) I'm tired of people changing words.. it makes the rest of us look bad

You bet they are. I cannot explain to anyone who has not owned an Apple computer just how great they are. I can only tell you that as an owner of Windows computers for 10 years who switched to Mac 5 years ago, I would not trade my 5 year old Mac for a brand new Windows PC.

Why does my laptop turn off when I unplug it and reset the time?
A laptop that turns off when unplugged is having a problem with its battery.
One possibility is that the battery can no longer hold a charge. That means the battery is dead. It is possible to buy a replacement battery. Also, there are companies that will "rebuild" your battery.
Another possibility is that the charging circuitry in the computer is broke and can no longer charge your battery. Either of these problems can be a result of dropping the computer or the battery.
There may be diagnostics in your computer BIOS software that can help determine the problem. Otherwise, replacing with a good battery will let you know if your charging circuitry is functioning.
Your computer also has a small internal battery that helps maintain the time as well as other BIOS settings. If this battery runs down, it needs to be replaced. Replacing the battery involves opening up the laptop case, finding the battery. replacing it, and putting the laptop together. This should only be done by someone who knows what he/she is doing.
These problems usually imply that the computer is quit old and probably should be replace with a newer model that does more capabilities and probably costs less.
