How does hi speed dial up work?

Almost exactly like regular dialup, except that the ISP is compressing the data sent to/from your computer so that it travels faster. There is some overhead on your computer for the software to handle this, so some older or less peppy computers will slow down using this model.

It is a powerful tool for speedy automatic data capture, thousands of data bytes per second, several hundreds of times faster than manpower, especially it can work for a long time without break.

What are the components of a computer give examples?

If your asking about what is inside of a computer then this is everything inside of it.

Depending on what you want the computer to be for will depend on what you have inside of it:

Power Supply.

Motherboard.

Processor(You can buy Motherboard's with a processor already in them)

Hard Drive(No matter what you need at least 150 Gigabytes, if you buy a HardDrive with less than 150 GB's then you have made a very bad decision which will lead to frustration and the need to make space on your hard drive)

RAM(Random Access Memory, you need at least 2GB of RAM).

Video Card(only if you intend on gaming, some motherboards have a video card already in them but they are very basic and not good.)

Sound Card(only if you intend to listen to music do you need one, all motherboards come with a sound card already in it but those are not the best sound cards)

Fans, You do not want your computer to ever heat up to much, if it does it can damage your hardware.

Is 1.80 GHZ is better than 3.00 GHZ?

3.00ghz would be much faster then 1.80ghz, nearly double the computing power.

Why is it necessary computer hardware?

Its Motherboard which hosts Processor, RAM (which are essential part of computer).

What is catche memory?

Catche memory is categorized as form of random access memory (RAM) that computer microprocessor access quicker than regular RAM.

What is a video card driver?

A video card driver is a piece of software that tells your computer how to send images to your video card, so it can display them on your monitor. With more modern operating systems that can operate a video card without installing a driver, they are used to control more advanced features of the card like hardware acceleration and TV output.

Why does the motherboard processor and RAM had the same or compatible form factor?

There are separate industry standards for each so that products can be compatible from vendor to vendor.

For example, motherboards have standard connectors and sizes for different chassis configurations. RAM have different connector conventions so you cannot put the wrong type of ram into your computer.

What are the steps to installing optical drives?

There are not 4 steps to installing a CD-ROM drive, there are 9-10 steps. # Open the computer case and decide which drive bay you wish to use. (Suggest using the top bay). # Most older cases use screws to secure the drive to the bay, and some use a clipping mechanism. (step is optional if this is first time CD drive has been installed). Remove face plate from front of bay. # Slide the drive into the bay. Leave enough of the drive protruding to be flush with the front cover of the computer case. # Push the clipping mechanisms back into place, or put 2 screws into each side of the drive (this is for bays that use screws) to secure the drive (use screws that came with the drive. Long screws can damage the drive. # Connect a power cord to the drive. # For EIDE drives, connect the 40-pin cable to the IDE motherboard connector and the drive. # Attach one end of the audio cord to the drive and the other to the sound card or, for onboard sound, to the motherboard. # Some drives have a ground connection, with one end of the ground cable attaching to the computer case. Follow the directions included with the drive. # Check all connections and turn the power on. Press the eject button on the front of the drive. If it works, power is getting to the drive. Put the computer case cover back on. # Turn on the PC. Follow the steps in the Add New Hardware wizard to add the device driver for the CD drive.

How many MB should be on a computer?

Bill gates once said, "...256 KB...", but that was years ago!

If you are using XP for best performance no less than 1 GB (2 if possible) of RAM (the more the merrier) and vista 2-3 GB.

Also, take your OS into consideration. If you use a 32-bit, then the maximum is 3 - 3.5GB but I wouldn't recommend under 2. For a 64-bit OS, pretty much anything will work. Again, stay over 2gb. The most I've seen in a laptop is the x58 laptop from smooth creations. I think it's 12 GB! The iMac Pro goes up to 32 GB. It'll cost you $6,000 extra just for that. Seriously, unless you're a hard core computer enthusiast/hard core gamer, 4GB will handle virtually anything. Anyhow, those are the bare minimums, but remember, more RAM is better (not counting the cost)!-u will only need 1-2GB of RAM 2 play almost any game and to make ur computer run good for XP but for vista u will need 2-3GB of RAM for a efficient computer.

The 64 bit Windows supports up to 128 GB of RAM but I doubt you can find any hardware that supports that amount. 64 bit actually allows a LOT more, but 128 GB is how much windows supports. However, a modern PC will not need more than 6 GB, even 6 GB is too much, 4 GB is enough. Your PC will never use 12 GB of RAM unless you do really heavy stuff like HD video editing and a lot of rendering (although is also based a lot on your CPU).

So for a Windows XP, anything above the 1 GB will do.

For Windows vista and 7, atleast 2 GB is recommended.

You do, probably, not ever need more than 6 GB and anything above that is basically a waste of money.

Additional Information:

This is a challenging question to answer - Why? because technology keeps changing year after year. (computers are now using GB, as opposed to MB for memory!) With newer Operating Systems being developed (Windows 7 and Mac OS X) along with faster processors, memory requirements also need to be considered.

You need to ask yourself what are you using your computer for? Are you using if for day to day email and surfing or are you a power user - graphics, gaming, etc? Take a look at what different companies are suggesting for their laptop/computer bundles? and you can add more memory depending on your usage.

Remember upgrading memory on older computers is dependent on how much the system board is designed to handle. How many slots do you have for memory? If this is what you are considering, you can check a site like crucial.com to check to see how much your computer can be upgraded to.

What is the difference between Flatbed scanner and flatbed scanner?

Hand-held scanners are used for

entering text and images that are

less than a page wide. The scanner is

held in the hand and passed over the

document. Hand-held scanners are

adequate for small pictures and

photos but are difficult for entire

pages. Software is used to join

scanned items to make a full page.

Flatbed scanners look similar to a

small photocopier with the document

remaining flat and stationary

during the scanning
