There are several reasons why a computer is unable to detect a pen drive. One common reason is that the computer does now know what drive letter to assign to the memory stick. One quick fix is to change the drive letter in the administrative tools of the control panel.

Hit NEXT and then choose "DON'T SEARCH, I WILL CHOOSE DRIVER I WANT TO INSTALL". You will get a list of SIGMATEL DRIVERS. UNCHECK the box that says "SHOW COMPATIBLE HARDWARE". Contrary to popular belief clock rate in itself is not an indication of speed, by which you most likely mean performance, or operations/second, most commonly float point operations/second FLOPS, it is not an accurate indicator because various CPUs can process various amounts of instructions per clock cycle. Clock speed is useful in comparison of performance of same family of processors, however it is not a good way to compare different types of processors, for example an Intel 80486 (i486) running at 75Mhz has a totally different performance from a MIPS r8000 running at 75MHz, they are two completely different processors running completely different architectures; supercomputer running only 18 of the r8000 processors made #154 on the 500 list in November of 1994. Plus things like instruction-level parallelism you have a potential to perform multiple operations during the same clock cycle, giving you higher throughput.

Was there any power going to the tower at all?? Could you hear the fan / drive spinning??

If not, then quickest way, is to check the power lead. If this is working, then it could be the PSU that has gone. If it is, change the psu over...

If you could hear fan etc, then check the lead from the monitor to the pc. Make sure its installed correctly.

Is your graphics onboard, or a graphics card? What colour light was on the monitor?

All of these questions, will help determine the correct answer.

• For the most part, the High Speed USB controller will be integrated right onto the motherboard of your system. You will sometimes run into this problem when upgrading to or installing a new version of XP, for sometimes it does not readily have the drivers available.
• What you have to do is to actually find out the motherboard that you have in your system, and download, or request the CD, that has the motherboard resources on it, in order to get Windows to install that particular controller.
• If you have a name brand computer, you should be able to contact the manufacturer to get the CD or download. However, if you have built the system, or someone else has built you the system, you will need the CD that came with the motherboard.
• A controller in a computer system (new or old) is a physical device that controls anything externally attached to it. For example, a hard disk controller (which is internally connected to today's motherboards) controls the hard drive connected to it.
• I think what you mean is downloading the 2.0 high speed driver for XP and if you do your windows updates it will usually install that driver for you. Unless I am misunderstanding what you are trying to do.
• If you mean the computer is seeing your USB 2.0 as a USB 1.1 then you go into device manager and tell it to update your driver to get a refresh on the device and a USB 2.0 driver downloaded/applied to the device.

Microphone converts Audible Sound into digital signals that's why it will be considered as an INPUT device not an Output device.
