Well as you may know an internal hard drive is inside your computer and stores just about all your computers' info. But you may have information on there that you want to take to your friends house, so you would put the info on your internal hard drive on an external hard drive, then put it on your friends computer instead of taking in and out your internal hard drive. So really bottom line here and external hard dirve is a more portable hard drive and easier to carry around.

I've tried the other 'cures' below without success, or else being asked to purchase software! (wonder is this a conspiracy between hp and pcfix software companies???) Anyway, I have just removed the calling program hphmon06.exe and voila! no more message.... This appears to be a H.P. file. I would suggest you reinstall the software or if that doesn't work visit their web site and click support. I just uninstalled all of my HP photo, PSC, etc. programs and then when I rebooted I got an error message that said "The application has failed to start because hpzjrd01.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem." I thne searched the recycle bin and then the entire drive using both the full file name and the only "hpzjrd" with no results. I also searched the HP website and they have nothing there either. The way it APPEARS right now is that it was a direct result of uninstalling those HP programs AND that no harm is done except I may have to live with seeing and closing that error message every time I boot up. I supect though that if I find what it is trying to load and get rid of that command I will be o.k. Click on Start > Run and type MSCONFIG and click OK. Click on Startup tab. Umm I think that windows is messed up becasue there are two time servers that are setup on your system. Try the following - Go to Time and Date Properties then go to Internet Time, make sure that a check box tittled "Automatically synch with an Internet Time Server" is checked and select "time.nist.gov" Its also correct, you might also want to run Update. If that does not help, it might be because you are using the wrong time zone. Hope this helps. Anyways i don't and have never had any problems.
