I would check for dust inside the computer also try and put some new CPU ceramic compound clear all fans and heat sink from dust as well as the motherboard.

Seems to me it is a heat problem. if it was a power supply problem the computer would have a hard time turning on.

did your computer used to move real slow? lagged? or gave out constant heat at high levels?

if yes i suggest to clean your PC from dust.

Buy a duster from wal-mart or any electronics store they are usually less than $15.

I know a few:

• they don't need breaks therefore dont stop the work.
• they have much more accurate changes, can read even the most minimal of changes.
• can take data readings more frequently (thousand times per second) if necessary.
• data logging can operate in different environments E.g the arctic on top of mountains.
• people have time to do more things rather than just looking at a thermometer.

• since data is already on comp it can be analyzed to draw graphs.

It all depends what model of PC do you have most likely its a Dell try checking the back of the computer to see if it has some LED lights older DELL PC's have this there like 4 or 5 lights try to turn the computer on and check for what lights are on or off and look for the code online and it will tell you what you need to do.

check if you can tap on the F number to bring you to a menu where it gives you an option to reset or restore your PC to previous settings.

In the console, you'd type CHKDSK /F.

In Windows, you'd go to the properties for that drive and then to tools. From there, you'd select that you want it to scan the disk.

One other possibility is to copy both conflicting files to another location, delete them from their original locations, and then copying them back. However, that will likely leave one of the files corrupted.

You can't really say that it's bad, but on the other hand (depending on a fan quality, age, etc...) the fan can sometimes magically break so processor doesn't get cooled as it's supposed to and it overheats, so the computer crashes, or simply shows you a msg saying that temperature is too high..., bla bla bla and it will turn off in several secs, so you have to buy new fan (don't fix it, because it may happen again, but much more seriously.).

Some people don't turn off their computers for days, but I think that you should always turn it off for the night.

I know from my own experience about the fan thing. The fan leg somehow slipped(???) and hit its bay and fell down(as it stands vertical) and it would hit the graphics card if it didn't hang on the wires that were holding it, so I had to change the original Intel fan, but the only thing that fits on an original Intel processor is an expensive original Intel fan, and on an original Intel motherboard will only go an original Intel processor. That happened the second week after I bought my precious computer. You just can't comment about that. I wasn't crazy enough to buy everything original from Intel again, so I bought the first quality stuff I found and it's lasted for almost 2 years, now, up to today.

Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete (on a Windows computer) and check the "CPU Usage" at the bottom. When you are not using your computer for anything strenuous, ie it is just sitting, idling on your desktop, the usage should be between 0% and 10%. If it is consistantly high and idles at 60, 70+ % then there is a 'hungry' program using up too much of your resources. Select the Processes tab and look for the Process with a very high entry under CPU (nb "System Idle Process" does not count). Use Google to find out which program it belongs to and consider reinstalling the program to fix it. The other alternative is that is malware, in which case you should run a virus/spyware checker. Two decent free ones are AVG (http://free.grisoft.com/)/Microsoft Defender (www.Microsoft.com).
