Run a system cleaner to delete unuseful files like temporary files and run defragmentation. A GOOD free software for this is CCleaner, from Poliform. its free and it can scan all your rubbish files, and clean the registry which will make your computer faster.

I had a 17" CRT that died in front of me one day - and it taught me an important lesson. I was working at my home PC when I heard a faint pop sound, and the screen went dark. Living by the philosophy of looking for the most likely causes first, I checked the power cable (fine), the power strip (also fine), then completely disconnected the monitor from the PC and power, got out the screwdrivers and openedup the casing. I pulled out a fuse and used a tester on it; sure enough it was blown, and I could fix it for about $3.99 and a 2-minute visit to the hardware store across the street. If I had taken it into a repair shop, it would have cost me $50 just for them to open up the case and replace it themselves.

A computer monitor splitter cable is used to send video signal from one monitor to a second monitor. This may be helpful when making presentations to meetings or for demonstrations in classrooms.

Plug the monitor into the laptop. Easy as plugging in a lamp. Let's hope the port isn't damaged, too.

However, some laptops will not begin using an external display unless you set it to from the advanced display properties (in Windows), in which case the laptop's monitor needs to be at least somewhat usable in order to use the second one.

I would suggest to replace the whole LCD screen. I bought the LCD from ScreenCountry and completed the rebuild, booted the machine up, and everything worked absolutely perfectly. That's a better solution than connecting a bulky external monitory into a portable device.

An LCD (liquid crystal display) monitor is used in calculators, digital watches, and digital clocks. The numbers and/ or letters you see on them are made by the liquid crystal that is inside of the two pieces of glass that is used for the screen. Sorry that I couldn't provide much information, but I'm not that good when it comes to understanding how the process works.

Actually LCD's arent a liquid, its a crystal display that due the way it reacts to electric fields acts like liquid. Lcd's will not freeze, the only thing is until warmed up they will have slow performance. LCD's are left outside in numerous places, car navigation screens, amusement parks, even snowmobile tachometers now use lcd displays.

An LCD will be fine stored in cold, just let it warm up before using and make sure the place your storing it is dry, humidity is what will kill your electronics not cold.

Now Plasma displays are a different story DO NOT let them freeze.

A VGA to RCA cable allows you to connect components such as a laptop to a television. These two components are not necessarily built ready to connect so a VGA to RCA cable allows for the signal version without a converter.

By shelf life I'm assuming you mean prior to opening. If kept in a controlled climate like a store warehouse there's really no shelf life. If you mean use life. All TVs are now said to have a life of 22 years if watched an average of 6 hours per day. Keep in mind that this is the brightness half-life which means that at 6 hours per day of use the picture will only be half as bright in 22 years as it is the day you buy it.

Within reason yes. If the monitor has the right connectors that fit the Mac then it's basically a Plug-n-Play. You can't really expect to use a 50 inch monitor on a bottom of the line Mac Mini and expect to use it at the fullest resolution.

There are some likely causes:

The screen illumination may have failed. If you can see a very faint image on the screen, that is the likely problem.

It may be the video driver chips that have failed. Try to connect an external monitor to the VGA port. You will need to enable the external port using one of the function keys (take a look in your manual to confirm how to do this). If the external screen doesn't work, it is possible that the driver chips have failed.

There are many companies that can assist with diagnosis and parts to help with a repair.

LCD screens NEVER use any fluids to clean an LCD screen. Use a dry and soft cloth (not paper, it contains wood pieces which could scratch your screen). If this doesn't help, use lightly wetted anti-static monitor wipes ESPECIALLY designed to clean such screens. They are widely available at electronics or office supply stores. Also, on the packaging look for the designation: Safe for Laptops and LCD screens. The picture will become finer. Your picture is made up of dots called pixels. Pixels are created from resolution for example 640x480=XXXX amounts of pixels. So when you create more pixels by increasing the resolution to say 1024x768=xxxxx amounts of pixels you increase the pixels amount and finess of the image.

CRT beam move from top left corner to button right corner of the screen for maintaining screen picture. it is called a cycle or frame. the number of frame in a second maintain by the beam is known as refresh rate. in raster scan system it is 60 to 80 frames per second

No, your computer monitor does not store information. It displays the information from your computer. Your data is stored on a hard drive or some other form of digital storage.

Information to be displayed on the monitor is created by programs and written to display memory. Electronic circuitry and a cable scans this memory and transfers the information to the monitor to be displayed. The display memory is normally part of the display hardware and circuitry. On lesser computers and notebooks, part of the computers main memory is allocated for display purposes reducing the amount of memory available for application processing.

Hi mate, I think if you follow my steps you should be able to solve your problem.

Go to the "Start" button.

Then click on "Run"

Then type in "msconfig" without the speech marks, and press enter.

Then select the "Startup" tab.

And try to find something that looks related to AIM. It should be called AIM or something.

Then select the box to make it a startup item.

and press "Apply" and "Close"

Now you have to restart your PC

On the next time you log on to windows, a message should appear. Just click dont show again.
