In a LCD TV, liquid crystals are sandwiched between two transparent electrodes and two polarizing filters. In other words, liquid crystals (most often in nematic phase) are packed between two glass plates. Two grids of electrodes (one is horizontally aligned and another is vertically aligned) contact either side of the crystals. The job of this network of electrodes is to access each pixel of the crystal layer and control the electric flow.

Liquid crystals are not luminious by themselves and it is the backlight device made of fluorescent lamps which give off the light behind them. The light of the backlight is then diffused by a white panel before passing through the liquid crystals. This white panel ensures that the entire surface of the screen gets uniform brightness. The front panel of LCD is made up of a grid of wires which are in contact with each pixel of the screen and activate it separately.

With in network of crystals, each molecule functions like a gate to open or close the passage of light through them depending on the voltage of the current. To produce bright display, the voltage is kept low while for dark details the voltage is increased. By nature, liquid crystals always allow a smaller amount of light to pass through them making the pure black levels somewhat impossible.

It can be a monitor (CRT or LCD) because you can immediately see what you are typing in - means that output information is given in the same time as the input information.

After just dealing with this problem myself, I found out my Lcd laptop screen was only at 50% brightness, now its good.

Theres 2 things you can do assuming you mean an LCD screen. Sometimes maybe on a laptop you have to press FN key then hit the keys with sun picture on it etc, to dim and brighten.

BUT... IF that doesnt work, and you make it as bright as it will go and you still feel your laptop screen or lcd monitor just seems kinda ..dim..not as bright as used to be etc.

Then it means your CCFL (cold cathode lamp) in your lcd is starting to go, or its power inverter that runs the lamp. Laptops actually usually only have ONE of these stick type lamps. If you have a certain screen size you can tell what size lamp to order. If you don't know electronics or how to take apart laptop or screen without damaging it, and be realistic. May want to just take it in to have this done, its VERY common problem. And if you do it yourself, you can go on eBay and for under $20 or around there you can buy a new bright replacement. Or call around for cheapest service place, but this is something you can do yourself, if youre very delicate, unplug everything including battery.

Sometimes a monitor has an auto-adjust button, that when pressed, will adjust the monitor for brightness, tilt, and color. If your monitor doesn't have this button, then you can attempt to reach an earlier state/resolution by right-clicking on your desktop (for Windows), going to "Properties", then "Settings", and then increasing the screen resolution, which is the most common mis-adjustment.

There is an additional step to this that is the REAL way to fix this issue. It happens to me all the time, and it's extremely frustrating. If it keeps occurring randomly to your computer it means there is a problem with your graphics adapter, and you should contact your manufacturer.

Once you right click on an empty place in your desktop, go to personalize, then click on display settings. Once in display settings click on advanced settings. Then click on List All Modes. There you will find all of the modes for the computer. You can run through these until you find the one that brings you back to the normal screen size and resolution you had before. For a 19" acer LCD it is 1280 x 768 32bit true color 60 hertz. I'm not aware of any button that brings it back to the default advanced setting.

well, talking about LCDs its actually there is no Big difference between them But in General everyone would Prefer to Bring something to last For Long .

So my advise to U if U r talking about Lcds of computer then U should Bring a monitor with fast responce Time I mean it should have 5ms (responce time) Or less

Becuz U don't want slower than that specially If U like PC games and the first brand who invented Less than 8ms was View Sonic .

anyway, my advice to U is to Choose any of the following :

ViewSonic,LG,Samsung,Sony ... they r all Great and U can find them in Low Price

Depends on the toolbar you wants to add. However, toolbars are usually placed on the top of the browser. I think the task bar doesn't accept shortcuts for toolbars.

the smallest computer screen is the pixel.On this pel(picture element or pixel) the image is divided into patrs which is displayed on it(only the portion of image assigned to that patricular pixel)

well, there are several types of VGA cables. the full form model is less common than the 2X or the half form. the full form is actually just a longer half form VGA cable that is plugged into the v-drive instead of a MC-16 drive. it is generally only used for macs.

For an LCD screen, you should never use anything but a soft cloth moistened with a little water. For a CRT(older, thick kind of monitor), a little but of dish soap with water can be used, again with a soft towel. Do not soak the cloth, only use enough liquid to moisten the cloth a little.

You need to replace it.

The manufacturer will repair it or supply a replacement screen to you. There are also many third party suppliers who can offer replacement screens.

Type in "Clean screen" and you will get the official advice.

By visual display unit I assume you're referring to one of the following: a tv, a computer monitor or a laptop screen. All 3 are output devices. The difference b/w an input and an output device is simply user input. An input device receives input from a user, an output device does not.

A mouse (receives user clicks), A microphone (receives user audio), a keyboard are input devices.

If the image is simple flipped on the screen (i.e. all upside down) then you can fix this pressing the following buttons all together at the same time : Ctrl + Alt + Up or Down.

If this doesn't help - check your graphics card drivers.
