How do I put the spring back into my computer mouse?
If you ever open a computer mouse with a scroll wheel, there is a possibility that the spring that supports the scroll wheel will fall out. That can be frustrating and confusing. Usually, the coil part of the spring goes on the shaft of the mouse wheel. Often, the shaft is longer on that side to make room for the spring. There should be places for the projections to go on the same side as the longer part of the shaft goes. It may take a bit of trial and error until you figure it out.

What is the difference between mouse and a tracker ball?
A tracker ball is both a the ball on top of a stationary mouse and a type of a mouse that has a ball on top. A typical mouse is moved over a pad and has the ball directing the cursor on the bottom, but a tracker ball type mouse has the ball on top of a stationary mouse where you direct the cursor by moving the ball with your thumb, FOREFINGER AND MAINLY WITH YOUR PALM. This type of mouse is sometimes called a tracker ball for short and the ball on this type of stationary mouse is also called a tracker ball. [ delete the following:...It is not a good name. What does it track? Nothing that I can tell. Computer terms were assigned by people who wanted to make it confusing, didn't speak English, or were very confused themselves] It would be better explained as follows. '''A tracker ball is both a the ball on top of a stationary mouse and''' [?a type of a mouse that has a ball on top]. '''A typical mouse is moved over a pad and has the ball directing the cursor on the bottom, but a tracker ball type mouse has the ball on top of a stationary mouse where you direct the cursor by moving the ball with your thumb,''' '''forefinger but mostly with the inner aspect of your palm. This type of mouse is used by people with arthritis or RSI as it saves making the fiddly and speedy movements with the digit joints (which cause some people pain) and directs the cursor by making a round movement after putting your hand over the large glass "tracker" which is on top of the "mouse". I myself was able to work as a secretary doing 100wpm until the age of 59 despite arthritic fingers since my late-40s, because an ERGONOMIC TRACKER MOUSE was recommended and purchased for me by my employers. I can highly recommend the TRACKER MOUSE to anybody - especially to those with arthritic hands and intermittent RSI.''' '''"Tracker Lover"'''
What tool is used for cleaning a mouse?
FOR LASER MOUSE :
1. Turn off your computer to prevent shock while you clean a laser mouse. Place a clean, white piece of paper on your desk. Computer paper works fine.
2. Hold a laser mouse on the bottom edge of the paper pressing gently. Slide it from bottom to top of paper while applying gentle pressure. You should see a dark streak on the paper from dirt and grease left behind.
3. Look at your mouse pads to see if all grease has been removed. If not, use a fingernail to scrape off any remaining grease.
4. Get a dampened soft cloth or paper towel if the grease is too stubborn to remove with a fingernail. Make sure the cloth or towel is barely damp, not dripping. Moisten the mouse pads. Repeat Steps 2 through 4 until mouse pads are clean.
5. Clean the top and under surface of a laser mouse with a soft, damp cloth. Use rubbing alcohol or mild soap for stubborn grease. If you need to remove dust from the hole containing the laser, use a Q-tip.
6. Dry a laser mouse thoroughly with a soft dry cloth before using. If you accidentally got liquid inside of it, don't use it until it has air dried, which may take several days.
FOR MOUSE ROLLERS :
First, turn off your computer (unless you have a USB mouse) and then unplug your mouse. Get a soft tissue, along with some suitable cleaning fluid.
Notice the removable cover on the bottom of the mouse.
Turn the mouse cover anti-clockwise to release the ball. Remove the cover and take the ball out.
Use the soft tissue to clean the mouse ball, be sure to remove all dust/hair/debris.
Next, notice the 3 rollers within the mouse casing, these are what we need to clean next.
You can improvise on how to clean the rollers, gently using your fingernail can get good results. Whichever way you choose to clean them, make sure you remove all traces of dust/debris, as the smallest piece can cause the mouse to behave erratically.
When you have removed all traces of dust/dirt from the rollers, and the ball is nice and clean, simply put the ball back in and replace the cover, turning clockwise to lock it in place.
Plug the mouse back into your computer .
um, sure. It'd take a bit of figuring and some duct tape.
How do you heat the gold from computer printed circuit boards?
== == No, you do not 'grind' up the circuit boards containing the gold. You remove the 'ears' and other parts that are plated with gold. You have a few options as to the heating of the gold, which will not be pure and needs to be separated out from the impurities. The best method without producing hazardous waste is with a Shor refiner. They are expensive. There are other 'dry' methods of extracting the gold using various heating methods, some of which are advertised on Ebay. Either way, if you are burning ANY electronic circuit board, you are producing noxious fumes and this needs to be done outdoors, period. As for the power cord being 'worth' more than the gold in the computer, that's just bullcrap. The older 286, 386 and 486 chips, have much more gold plating on them. With gold holding at $900 per oz, I'm thinking of getting into the refining business.
