You don't need to attach a file to an email but if you want to send a file to someone attaching it to an email is a good way to do it because you don't have to go to the person to give them the file.

Most web browsers have a pop up blocker, this will help. Otherwise, just close the windows (if they open one) and don't click on anything they ask you too.

If it wasn't due to an update or installed program it may have been a virus. It's hard to say without more information. If you don't have antivirus or anti-malware software I'd highly recommend you get software to do that. Malwarebytes is free and very good for anti-malware.

There are different types of malicious viruses, some will delete data files, some will delete system files, some replicate files until the hard drive fills up. Some "just" replicate, which is malicious enough because it steals bandwidth.

Yes it can actually change all the codes stored in ur computer to make it run so run a virus scan and turn your anti virus i reccomand that u get google chrome to it can detect websites that havent comfirmed there security factor

Make sure all accounts are password protected, especially the Administrator account. Have a strong password on your router. Use a good firewall and anti-virus software, and update them regularly.

So far there are only two known viruses that affect the iPhone. One is named iKee, and they only affect jailbroken iPhones that still have the default root password, which allows ssh and terminal access to the devices filesystem. If you have jailbroken your iPhone and have not changed the root pass then you can read the tutorial in Cydia on how to do this or restore your device to factory settings.
