there are two things you may be talking about here as the two are often confused:

1. Dual processors. in which case, there are 2 separate processors on the motherboard, effectively doubling the computing capacity. There are very few motherboards and cases that support this but one that does is the Mac Pro from Apple. Using dual quad core processors, the computer can utilize up to 8 cores.

2. Dual core. in this case, there is one physical processor which is essentially split in half. this allows the computers to process 2 things at once whereas single core processors can only do 1.

The best brand of laptop available is subjective, for example Alienware is great for gaming but might not be ideal for a non-gamers laptop needs.

What your going to get totally depends on what kind of person you are.. a gamer or a person who uses the computer for work. A good gaming computer requires alot of power. If this demand isn't reached, the computer will get messed up. A computer for work doesn't need much of anything. However the type of work is a different story. Web designers or people who use video programs or picture ones such as CorelVideo Studio Pro or Photoshop, require a pretty good 3D-Card to get the best out of the work.

That is also required for gamers who want good looking games. Such as Lineage 2.

the computer mainly just goes to the log on page. it is like shutting down your computer but it doesn't turn off, it just goes to the page were you sign in to put your password in!!!
